Im not gonna comment on your thoughts with her acting cause there are times I feel the same but the reason she had smiling as her ID was because TY was a huge fan of a former ADC player with the name Smile and she wanted to bring back his ID to the community after he retired, well that is according to the Novel. Im not sure if they are gonna explain that in the drama though.

No, she was like a passing by character with no impact in the overall storyline of the novel. She comes into the storyline when our leads are still flirting or testing the waters, they're not dating at that time yet so she's basically not breaking up anything.

yes it does exist in real life. I'm not sure with capture the flag competitions but the E-sport gaming community is really big and Onmyoji Arena (the game on the drama) have its own tournaments. League of Legends from the novel is extremely big and probably is one of the biggest gaming communities right now and their competitions and events are always big. Not a gamer, but I do enjoy watching teams from 100 thieves play, they are an org in North America.

She was a very brief character 'cause right from the beginning LSC was very clear that he didn't like her and that they are just not a match. She was a bit pushy for a moment but LSC was quite cold towards her so she didn't really have any impact on the novel aside from unintentionally making Tong Yao realize more of her feelings for LSC.

I personally really liked the novel, its definitely more mature than the drama since I notice they did try to PG some of the things from the novel. As for the love story, they will flirt for a while and with the current pace of the show they might start dating early 20s . They each will have their own admirers but there is no third party that will try to break them apart.
They will have their challenges but there are no breakups whatsoever and I think that's why I really love the story, that their relationship despite the things they will experience is still intact and will continue to grow.
