Good historical cdramas usually has 50+ , it's needs time to build up the story and doesn't feels rush
True, when I first started watching Chinese Dramas I was overwhelmed with the number of episodes in historical dramas but after watching them, the number was needed to really build up the story, to make the viewers more attached and invested in the characters, the story flow and the impact of the events in the storyline. Now when I see Historical dramas that has less than 40+ episodes, I wonder if they could justify the story with just those episodes LOL

I have only read the early parts of the book and stopped and until recently skipped immediately to the ending well parts of the ending (cause I'm too impatient AHAHAH I just needed to know if I get a happy ending) and it looks liked it. From what I understood they will have their happy ending but HFX will give up his ambition for the world and ultimately choose BFX.

OH MY GA! I was thinking the same thing LOL. Like remove the handsome face and other certain factors *(that I obviously like) and he is like a creepy stalker. HAHAHAH throughout the few episodes that I was watching, everything he does is borderline or is already manipulative, possessive, obsessive just the type that you would be creeped out in real life BUT he is good looking and we're a sucker for those small moments that seems so sweet without thinking in a more mature/logical realistic lens. but we still love watching it. HAHAHAH
