Title Daughters
Is this like skins(UK)?
I've watched until episode 5 so far and it's very different from Skins, although it goes through the same topics.

me too....i wish so much for this to be air and now...is gone...
It's probably never going to air because of the scandals involving Zhang Zhe Han. All of his works were taken down and his upcoming works will propably never get released.

It does matter on an artistic level. Creating movies is a form of creating art. By not trying to convey the intention…
I'm not saying it doesn't matter, I'm just saying it's a common practice in Chinese fantasy/historical dramas. This exaggeration of numbers is very common and *I* personally don't think it's that big of a mistake. I agree with you, it does matter on an artistic level, and I agree with OP, there are better ways of doing this. Like I said, the scene in which Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli can't find each other although there's a lot of negative space is terribly made. It's ridiculous. I'm not saying OP is wrong and it doesn't matter. All I'm saying is, at the end of the day, it's a common practice that in no way makes the drama a bad production at all. lel

I understand where you're coming from and why this upsets you, but at the same time I don't really think it's such a big deal at the end of the day. I mean, you're right, it is hard for a brain to believe in the narrative of thousands of people when they show so little personnel in those shots. Still, I think the point of saying "thousands of people" is not because there actually was thousands of people, but because they always exaggerate numbers in Chinese narratives, specially when they're "gossiping" about something or someone (which is exactly what happens when they say those numbers). The point is: we are not supposed to believe in the narrative that says thousands of people, since this narrative is made to frame Wei Wuxian. So yeah, I don't think it was that big of a mistake. Except in the fight scene when Wei Wuxian and Jiang Yanli can't find each other: that was really terribly made. Other than that, I don't think they were trying to represent thousands of people, so it's fine that there are only a hundred, LOL.
