Review Rebirth
Bringing in Zhao Chun Er instead of the Princess of Lang led to the show’s downfall. Every minute of watching…
So you're living in Iran, right? I get it, alright. Your rights are being reduced to zero, free speech, expression, even commenting is treated as hate. I understand why, because your world teaches you to stay silent, accept having no rights, care about nothing, and just live flatly, like grass to be stepped on. That’s your way of living. My review is just me exercising my right as a viewer, not talking shit or anything. If you don’t get that, it’s your problem. Your world isn’t mine. go write your own review iran kid.

I get why the drama went off a cliff and won't return to Season 1 glory, they removed the secret/spy agent elements and turned clever characters into average ones. But I didn't expect the rating to drop to just 4.3! lol That's unbelievably low; it should at least be around 6. Huh, wow. And making a princess who was assaulted by soldiers the main lead? Nice try, but yeah… that didn't end well. Failed so hard. lol drama list rating 7.7 nice compare to 4.3

wtf the rating
2010s Golden Age:
Talented directors who understood visual storytelling
Writers who crafted complex characters
Willingness to take risks
❌ 2020s Decline:
Safe, formulaic choices (focus on "popular couples" only)
Censorship pressures (complex political/spy plots get cut)
Commercial priorities over artistic vision
Churn over quality (produce more, care less)
Loss of creative veterans (replaced by less experienced teams)
Why 9 Years of Waiting Became a Joke ⏰
The original Princess Agents (2017) had:
Strong ensemble cast
Multi-layered political intrigue
Powerful female characters with agency
Willingness to be dark and complex
⏰Rebirth (2026) appears to have:
Narrowed focus to one romance
Removed complex supporting characters
Played it "safe"
Lost the original's boldness.
Most outrage is: they take princess lang and replace with princess wei as we know x by soldier, losing dignity. story is flat lol

Once a complainer, always a complainer.When a 20ish or 30ish female actor is starring a 16 or 17 years old character…
wrong, character is good and fine but story is joke, because Yuan Chun loses all narrative value, so the focus shouldn't shift to her. The one who should drive the downfall is Xiao Yu. Wasn't she the one who, alongside Yuwen Huai, reduced Yanbei to ruin? In the novel, she even becomes Queen of Yan precisely because Yuwen Yue chooses Chu Qiao, which triggers the central conflict. With Lang State’s backing, Yanbei then successfully stands against Wei. here break down in detail :

Xiao Yu + Yuwen Huai brought Yanbei to hell
In the novel, Xiao Yu (Nan Liang crown princess & head of the spy network) actively coordinates with Yuwen Huai to fracture Yanbei's early faction, cut off supply lines, and destabilize Yan Xun's rise. She isn't a passive observer; she's a strategic aggressor.

Yuwen Yue choosing Chu Qiao triggers Xiao Yu's rise
Yuwen Yue's alignment with Chu Qiao shifts the Wei military-intelligence balance. Yan Xun, now isolated from Wei's core, must secure Nan Liang's backing to survive. Xiao Yu's marriage to Yan Xun becomes a geopolitical necessity, not just a romantic or tragic footnote.

Lang State (Nan Liang) supports Yanbei vs. Wei
Xiao Yu is the diplomatic bridge. Her control of the underground spy network ("Nine Hearts") and her statecraft keep Yanbei from being crushed by Wei. Remove her, and the Wei-Yanbei-Lang triangle collapses into a simplistic revenge plot.

Yuan Chun loses narrative value post-assault
after her trauma, Yuan Chun's arc shifts from political player to psychologically fractured survivor. While that can work in a character study, it cannot drive a war-and-espionage sequel. She reacts to events; Xiao Yu orchestrates them.

waiting fk 9 years that is fan expression pal, get it . Character Lost
What They must Brought but didn't 1 Xiao Yu: Political intrigue, spy network, intellectual rivalry with Yuwen Yue, agency.
2 Meng Feng: Loyalty, martial prowess, emotional depth, connection to Chu Qiao's journey.
The Yuan Chun Problem 💔
You're asking the critical question: After Yuan Chun or Zhao Chun Er was:
Captured
Harassed/assaulted by soldiers
Stripped of power and dignity
What narrative value does she have left as a "main lead"?

So this is what you waited until 2026 to give us? After nine years since 2017, you deliver a version filled with barbaric aesthetics, costumes that look like beggar's rags compared to the original Season 1, and Zhao Chun Er as the main lead, even though her character had already left the world in Season 1. while the clever schemes, the Princess Lang agent dynamics, and the intense PvP battles gone and didn't bring back. Nice job, Director. Congratulations on your success in turning this drama into a joke

This is a paid decampaign. The show is great, we don't care about your paid negative review.
that is good thing because you read my review that mean it make sense. you love the aesthetic feels barbaric, the scenes are coated in sand, and the costumes look like beggar’s rags compared to the original Season 1 so your nature is mud that why you love beggar 's costume, it is your taste. but for me i don't like it. and that why i write the review about it. if you love it, you should write your own

Title Rebirth
The gap between expectations and the actual drama is too wide. It needs a clear driving force to keep people watching. Instead of being rescued by barbarians, Yuwen Yue should be sent to Princess Lang, where a developing romance would naturally propel the story forward. Meng Feng should go to war alongside the Seventh Prince, while Chu Qiao, as the female lead, should actively find a way to leave Yan Xun. After hearing crucial news, she would then head to Lang State, this kind of purposeful journey would draw audiences in far more than the current tribe storyline, which feels stagnant and unwatchable. Rather than losing her memory (which halts progress and feels contrived), Chu Qiao should step up as leader of her mother’s sect and use that position to build something new and compelling. This direction would give the plot real momentum and keep viewers engaged.

Anybody help me .. for scenepack Who are all combos which characters should I include
Wang Yan Lin as Yuwen Huai [Yu Wen Yue’s cousin], Chen Si Han as Wei Shu Ye, Yuan Zi Yi as Meng Feng, Hu Shi Zhi as Cheng Yuan, and Maggie Huang as Xiao Yu [Princess of Nan Liang/Yan Queen], these actors are absolutely OP in their villain roles, lol. Their ability to challenge the leads is so good.
1 Yuwen Huai is a straight-up bully.
2 Wei Shu Ye will do everything for love.
3 Meng Feng, a devoted agent, could easily become a romantic rival to the female lead.
4 Cheng Yuan is a cruel merchant.
5 The Princess of Nan Liang is clever and cunning, she even tricks and drugs the male lead to have his child. She’s perfect for PvP against our female lead, and she even teams up with Meng Feng to battle her.
