In drama many things are changed. They change the cause but they did not change the effects that why u are questioning all this, to understand it batter u need to read the novel. Ye xiwu said she don't want to meet him again because of the suffering she goes through in her last few months. On the otherhand tan tai jin love is not very much clear to himself, he was just trying to get everything what xiao lin had. Now in drama they have changed thes causes and original events are the same which are causing problems.

I am sure if it was tan tai jin in susu place and she would have killed his whole family he would have treated her even more badly.
