I don't see any physical relationship between Liu and Pop but there is definently an emotional one that's being passed(?) through her by Dew. Hence the unhooking of the bungees, they knew that the way things were they couldn't be together it would be Impossible between them.
I absolutely loved how she got to thre train station, you can feel the relief of laying eyes on one another again. He only sees Dew when looking at Lui.
