I like the drama and all but for fucks sake it was frustrating to watch. Everyone's character is so frustratingly…
Coffee prince, 2006, a rather famous scene/line is when Gong Yoo (forgot the character name), the ml, says to the dressed as a boy fl, "I don't care whether you're a man, or, or and alien, I love you"... something to that effect :D. It takes him a lot of guys to accept himself being attracted to (who he thinks is) a man, then he's very upset that she turns out to be a girl o_O (cos everyone else had figured it out by that time, and he felt stupid)...this and other reason, why Coffee Prince is _not_ my fav kdrama....but I've still managed to rewatch it a few times (hehe)...I loved the fl. So, yeah, that's another one (and older to this), where the ml struggles and finally accepts being gay,for the fl.
Episode 4, iirc. It's not really a breakup either. He tells her that he still loves her (*eyeroll*), so she doesn't…
Just my 2 cents....if you're looking for something with a little angst, but mainly sweet, this is *not* for you. It's a fantastic piece of writing, great portrayals by the actors, all the girls look and dress amazing, wonderful acting, each one of them...but the sweetness between our otp was totally unable to douse the distress headache I got from watching horrible people do horrible things and reap their repercussions. I would recommend this as a watch for the sheer audacity of Joe spinning every situation to his advantage - the beginning episodes; after that, even I got tired :/
While I do agree that there seems to be a lot of air time for Masu/Joe character, we see him plotting the same…
Haha, totally agree with you about Great (he's the reason I'm watching!). And about the confident, outgoing cousin, who is a_decent_ girl (for a change). Very refreshing!!
As for Joe and his women...this guy is a master manipulator! (And the actor has done a fantastic job of portraying that as well. ) It's not just his looks, it's how he spins the situations, how he gives minimum time and attention to a girl, but makes it seem like he's thinking about her, more than any other girl (giving them a sense of competition and achievement over other girls). I have seen shades of such manipulation...and this character just rings so true for me!!
which ep does FL break up with cheater ? i would like to start there...
Episode 4, iirc. It's not really a breakup either. He tells her that he still loves her (*eyeroll*), so she doesn't get closure from him (everyone knows he's getting married to Gift by this time).
The ml, fl have some cute bickering moments in the earlier episodes, before ml tells his mom that she has a bf, and then afterwards, he hangs around her to make sure that she's okay. And that's rather sweet as well. I liked how she asked him straight out what the story behind her initial encounter with his ex was, and he tells her, and says you don't have to believe either side. She takes her time coming to terms with it.
Episode 5 the cheater's old GF comes to apologise and talk to fl, and from then on, fl is totally over him! And into ml!!
I really like the portrayal of the cheater.. he's able to spin _everything_ in his favor!! I like the moral that comes across... don't covet others' so, because repercussions will come back to you! And maintain decency and dignity, that's the only way to deal with being manipulated.
Others have said this, and it's true, this drama focuses on the manipulative om, to the extent that ml, fl don't get as much screen time. Even I've started skipping scenes with the cheater or either of the two silly cousins, unless the ml or fl is in them. (I'm on episode 8, and not gone to bed yet! hehe).
I loved this drama. And I dropped it with two episodes remaining. Read a low rating review just now, and I'm glad I never watched those last few episodes. It was headed in a weird direction, and I had a feeling I might not enjoy it. Apparently, fl and ml's ex are not 'enemies', but she turns down a great job opportunity cos it would've meant working with her.
I'm going to keep my pleasant memories of the first half of this show x_x
Loved the otp, and slow burn romance. 9 Loved ep14 hijinks! +1 Shades of Enid Blyton (and every boarding school coming-of age novel), and daddy long legs (she's bubbly, and speaks her mind; he sponsors kids- only fl bff in this case), and Connie Brockway(fl trespasses into ml home to get his help, and eat cookies!! Bubo formosa plurimus minor, anyone?)...love love love +1
Hated the 'caring father' who is controlling emotionally abusive (imho ofcourse) -2
Hated the nuns initially,, simply disliked the pretentiousness and the unfairness by the end -2 the nun fl father abandoned; the nuns letting Sai bully the other girls; the punishments - eg, no meal for the entire day!! the twisting of nun who slapped a student- the kids deserved to know, they weren't completely in the wrong to demand an apology
He looked great in Suparburoot Jorm Jon: Duang Jai Kabot. But I didn't finish watching it. Although I wished they…
I think he got a lot more screen time in the other one of that series - he was the second lead! A lot of people (including me), thought Maturot Lohgan had a much better storyline. Give it a go, see you like it.
A simple story made this Lakorn fun to watch until then a scene about her mother who was quite annoying appeared,…
I skipped all scenes of the mother, many of the ones of the bad guys (their evil plotting wasn't that hard to follow)...and (I'm sorry to say) scenes of the ml cousin and fl dad - which was a sweet couple, but I just really liked the main couple, and watched just for them. I came away happy and contented. So... thank you for the advice! xoxo
I hated this drama. The ML was wishywashy, never really told the second FL to leave strongly. In the end also,…
Thank you ?. I didn't realize what the title meant, before I started watching... thought it was a Thai word, then I realized I knew this word!
I lasted about 4 episodes. I do not know what the bigger culprit is, the ml actor's smug face or the spineless, self-righteous ml character. For me, they seem to go well together. I hated this so much... I went and watched Roy leh sanae rai after this. (Yes, the ml character, played by dj push, rapes the fl, but it gets enough hate from the viewers that I was more comfortable watching that, over this...if that makes sense.)
I'm not an expert on Thai culture but here's what I've been able to gather and understand:-1) When a man and a…
This is rather late in the game...but just to add a bit to the discussion, a second or third wife usually has less power than the first/head wife. This is okay if the woman has her own wealth/power, which she passes on to her children (Pat and Ronaphee had Jade rings from their mother).
But the head wife has more rights, as you can see from the kids...umm... their father had a son with the first wife, then a son with the second wife, who was a servant to the first (but he did 'right' by her, and married her), then he had two sons by the third wife (daughter of a rich Chinese merchant), and now, bcos the third wife has 2 sons to first wife's one, the first wife has a right to ask for another son (which she got- our ml here).
Yeah, rights to beget children is a thing ... uh...and she (head wife) also has the right to ask that a minor wife not be given any more children. Ofcourse, it depends on how much power she has vs the other wife (which depends on her wealth, prestige, family connections,...) but this an accepted norm.
How do I know this...the non-pg version of the epic tale of Mahabharata... Very hard to find these explanations that everybody seems to understand and take for granted. If you're shocked, rest assured teenage me was equally (or more) scandalized when I found out, some twenty odd years ago.
As to multiple wives today, it is very, very rare, but there are one-off cases still today where a man has two wives concurrently. Smh
I loved the first 1/2 of this drama.. I fell in love with Allen Ren's cranky, but subtle amused facial expressions.…
So true!! Probably a good thing there aren't any English subtitles for ep 49-55 yet... I watched him break up, and then the 2.5 min end on youtube. I'm all wrapped up :)

Pat and Rach, 3rd and 4th brothers have the same mother
