I, for one, am fine with this adaptation and the rewriting of the ML... so idk... i am kinda glad, because this adaptation reminds me of The Story of Minglan.. which is not a bad thing tbh..

I skimmed through the novel and if they had kept the souk switcheroo... that would confuse the general audience to the max.. so i am also glad they just scraped that...

Plus i skimmed sone of the extra stories and to find out, the novel ML wasn't even good to his own son... which i am not surprised so i am interested in seeing how they rewrite that if they do the extra stories...

Well ofc they got to water down shenyuan because the novel version of him married a 15 year old girl.... plus it should not mean that every ML who is smart does ruthless outcomes.. plus we just started this drama so we got more episodes to see how the scriptwritera changed the novel's plot... honestly, this is a good ML character for me... maybe y'all also are just used to anti-hero or red flag MLs though... plus they are going to censor this drama to the high heavens...

i think the tags should have "fake-siblings" in a neon sign at this point... LOL

Like with most of these comments.... this show is mainly centered on Ren Min... so if you dont like her voice or her presence then.. thats just for you to decide on if you want to continue to watch the show...

As for me, i like Wan Yi and Ren Min so i will continue to watch the show, because its interesting so far..

You could just watch the first few episodes and then decide...

I don't get how people keep comparing this drama with other dramas.. like as of all the previous dramas throughout the years didn't have the stepmother-father-daughter conflict in them as well, or the overall family conflicts in their own plot... I do like the slow building of the drama so far.. So if you only just watch this drama as you are interested in it, then you won't be disappointed..
