We had a bigger issue in the past while Crash Landing on You was airing. If that drama wasn't canceled, this one…
Or the least they could’ve done was put a disclaimer saying “the events in this show are entirely fictional” so that way people wouldn’t be offended, something tells me people still would though lol. A history check would be fantastic, like you’re telling me there’s not one Korean historian you can talk to about cultural accuracy? It’s this kind of stuff that make me think filmmakers can be lazy :/ And yessss, it’s not like there’s moon cakes throughout the whole drama you know? Even the production staff came out and said because of the characters whereabouts this is why we included them in the scene, but anything related to China is sensitive in SK rn, so I still don’t get why they didn’t put a disclaimer like some historical shows I’ve seen.
Being a psychopath doesn’t equal being a killer..... + honestly BR being just way too innocent and having nothing…
That’s true! But I still think the writers would’ve led him to the killer route anyway, even if being a psychopath doesn’t make you a killer, that’s just imo, we’ll see what happens though! I didn’t think BR was necessarily boring, but it did kind of irk me how the writers didn’t make his character more prominent in the story so far, like honestly the lead character feels more like Moo Chi than BR :/

Omg TKEM had some bad ones dealing with architecture for sure, people got really pissed about that. Even if they do hide it though, people won’t forget about it :/ that’s why you need to do your damn research before you shoot these scenes, honestly, like ask yourself if this is going to offend people, this isn’t the first time knetz have went off the walls about Chinese or Japanese culture being implemented in a Korean show, you’d think filmmakers would figure this out by now LOL
Love triangles are so pointless in kdramas. I honestly think no SLS is gonna hurt me after Start up but even if…
He really was entitled and I ever understood that ... At all, and he totally catfished her, that’s what bothered me the most, he could’ve just been honest with her and let er fall in love with him properly but nope, he had to lie. YES. Dalmi imo sh to be one of the worst written female leads in terms of not giving a sh— about someone who practically helped you out more than twice to land your job ... It was so irritating, it was even more irritating grandma s related to her ... Also true: the writer did a terrible job in creating depth for all the other characters besides jipyeong, none of them had motivation, they were just there for the sake of the plot. The Samsan guys could’ve had backstories as to why they have trust issues or why they’re so disrespectful or unprofessional, NOPE. Like I said, best thing to happen out of start-up is me finding out who Kim Seon-ho is lmao
AND YES. I always tell people to watch a show that did poorly audience wise, because you just never know, it helps create discussion and you can see what the fuss is all about. And lmao are you sure about that? Woo Do Hwan was the best thing to happen in TKEM and his character gets thrown under the bus, so prepare for that lol. *sighhhhh* it was a massive disappointment for me indeed. I justified it in my review for the show. OOF ITS OKAY TO NOT BE OKAY, one of my absolute favs, I love Kim Soo Hyun <3
Very well explained! Im not familiar with depression myself so i hadnt notice but it is so interesting to see…
Mhm depression can be shown in multiple ways but I say some of the spot on portrayals are repetitiveness in daily life, low-self esteem and motivation in activities or hobbies, lack of eating habits, bad sleeping habits and such, there’s plenty more, but this series has done well in showing it so far, I’m impressed!
absolutely agree! I noticed that too. As a person who is also suffering from depression I saw it right through…
Mhm, it was pretty clear tbh, “repetitive” is the word I was looking for actually lol, my brain said I don’t know a word to describe this lol, he’s definitely unmotivated. I think the medication is for his knee to, but it isn’t like described? Like we don’t know what kind of meds they are, so it could be anti-depressents, we just don’t know yet.
Finally, Navillera is here! First of all, let me tell you how proud Song Kang makes me feel. He is such a pro.…
I KNEW IT WAS HIM DOING HIS OWN STUNTS, I saw that behind the scenes, the dedication indeed! He could have these skills for the rest of his life too! :’) He’s incredibly diverse and that’s why I love his acting, he’s got quite the future ahead of him!
Can we just take a minute to appreciate how well this show represents depression? I mean in all honesty, I feel like mental health is brushed over in kdramas but the first episode really captured how depression works, mainly with Song Kang’s character Chae Rok:
At the beginning of the episode we see him living alone and it’s foreshadowed his mother recently passed away and he doesn’t have anybody, he’s definitely depressed, and by the end of the first episode we find out quite a bit about his life: his fathers in jail but getting ready for parole, he’s interested in ballet, he has enemies, or people that treat him like sh— with a few friends including from work or the doctors office, and his ballet instructor, but in the first episode we see him following a repetitive daily routine, which means no change, he’s literally repeating his day over and over again, doing the same exact things in a darkened room, he tries to stay in bed, and has sleeping issues, he skips meals, we also see he’s taking medication for his knee injury, but we don’t know for sure if he’s taking other meds, maybe antidepressants? As someone who suffers from depression it’s refreshing to see some accuracy in how depression works, or seeing some accuracy in someone suffering from it, though it’s not to be taken lightly, I just want to thank the writers for showing us these details. I look forward to newer episodes, it’s gonna be agonizing waiting every week :’(((
Okay, real talk though, the nose structure of the FL is everything lol, it’s rare to see nose types like hers, and I feel less insecure when I see them because my nose is like this xD it’s hella refreshing <3
