“The people who rated this 10/10 are just your typical overhypers”. It’s quite unfortunate getting to this…
Yes, I understand that clearly I, and other reviewers come from different experiences when watching kdrama series. Also, I aknowledge that a few of them are so much better at analyzing series in depth, unlike me who looks at the big picture first.

The "10/10" comment simply comes from a frustration and an actual sad truth that is not aknowledged by many. The fact that people who overhype a series just for the sake of it do so and also mislead others by putting down a very high review for a series that doesn't really deserve it. They may make general statements about how good the series is, but they just simply don't look at the series objectively enough, only subjectively.
This only makes me believe that some of them could be paid reviews lol....hopefully not.

Not every series is perfect, and even I put some 10/10s for some movies I watched , purely subjective reviews but without publicing them, just for myself since I don't want others to be influenced by such ratings.

Hear, hear!!!! I slogged through the whole drama wanting to find out why everyone was raving about it! Couldn't…
I previously watched School 2017 (to which I dropped on the 14th episode), and it was a drama set in a school as well. If you would take out the "Oh no, I'm a character in a webtoon and I must change my own fate" plot from the picture, it is nothing but the same typical school-unnecessary drama-romance story.
What typically annoys me the most, is that most side characters and sometimes support leads feel like they just exist there to either get in the main leads' way or simply act as a silly friend. Like as if they don't have their own life and personality.
Sadly many comedy-romance dramas do this regardless of the setting. It's like a checklist for successful(?) dramas some writers/web artists have on their side and they all do the same thing.
God forbid the main lead being outshined by a side character or support character...lol

Finally someone who thinks same as me...like I never understood the basis of reverse-harem(a fated love triangle…
Many kdramas sadly lack rationality in their plots since they are supposed to be fiction, but that doesn't excuse any drama to be written this....stereotypically.
Relating to characters is important too, that's probably the first reason I thought of this drama to be lacking. And I would also add that the most irritating part of all school kdramas is the complete destruction of all side characters' personalities. It is as if they are dolls/NPCs just existing for the sake of causing problems for the main leads.

I couldn't agree more ! It could have been a great story but the depiction of God, angels and demons seems to…
Yes, my friend, that's how I have also felt, in a similar way about this drama. Unfortunately, for the sake of publishing and distributing a drama to the public, producers feel obligated to take into account what the "public" or more accurately the audience likes in a drama.

They just completed a check-list of facts that make a drama entertaining, however they failed to keep true to them until the end. You cannot just throw everything into a story without a proper motivation and plan. Otherwise, it becomes blatantly obvious.

And yes, as you mentioned, there are many plot holes and character tropes that would have worked incredibly well, but once again, they stereotyped them and completely ignored their reality.
If the drama perhaps, focused more on the melodrama and conflict of the romance between an angel and human, and actually resulted in something more representative of those characters, then maybe this film would have been one of the top in the korean drama industry and history. Sad to see the path it took.

Add to that the fact that he makes her pee and poop in a flowerpot outside his window, without even giving her…
Absolutely my friend! Your reply made my day as I was wondering if there was anyone left on this pitiful earth with some rational mind to judge those poorly written films.
Of course, I was not expecting anything good to come out of it after the 2nd episode if it was already that bad to begin with.
And now that I know that she wears the same dress until the end...I am disgusted.
Chemistry? Look, on the first episode, there seemed to be some chemistry because their characters then were "behaving" like themselves.
But from the 2nd episode the acting became "pornographic" and the scenario perverted.
Either way, thanks for the reply!

I was agreeing with your review till u had to go and compare it to kdramas, as if they are the best in the world…
I think I was misunderstood there. I wasn't comparing this Japanese series with k-dramas directly. I was just trying to make a point that there are certain romantic comedies out there that can be set as a good example. Of course I could mention some anime/manga/Hollywood movies in that case too. I was just being too inclusive, and I agree with you that not all k-dramas are the best in the world lol.
