I guess we all have a week to prepare, not just Pharm. :D
Also, what is with this comment section? When thumbl is healthier for discussion, you know something has gone horribly wrong. I thought this site had moderators.
When tumblr is better than dedicated comment section for discussing the show you know that something went wrong, like, whoa! I thought this site had moderators.
I watched the first two episodes with English subs on YouTube and it's cute so far. Bai Yu was always likable, but I like actress playing Lin Xia and actor playing A Li as well. I will give the show a chance.
After heartbreak inflicted by MODC, I am loving all the fluff and sweetness of UWMA. And I know the ending, so I am enjoying everything, even the sadness. We really need the same team to tackle Hemp Rope (WinTeam).
I love WinTeam and of course I enjoyed fact that we finally had good scene with them, but still I think it was…
I think they used the cute scene and not something more because they are planning their series. I think there will be a couple of more scenes (I know: Can I sleep here? is in it, it was in one of the trailers), just that the audience knows that they are together. Then they'll wait for the author to finish Hemp Rope (on hold because of the series) and do WinTeam show. At least that's what I hope, because the pair is so popular.
I really hope someone picks up and translates the novel because it’s actually better than the drama. You actually…
Find stebeee on tumblr and read a happy ending at least. Needless to say, it's superior to what we got. EDIT: there is a link already in the comments, sorry. I don't speak Chinese, but I thought it was a good translation, for what it's worth.
O.K. I have to leave this page for a while since leak doesn't help with me waiting English subs. And I won't vote until I finish it, but I love this drama so far, acting, all the characters, music, cinematography... pretty much the whole package.
Oh my god I was not expecting Win to kiss Team like that, I’m still shook. I haven’t read the book in a while…
I think the kiss is from Hemp Rope (their own novel), since WinTeam is practically non existent in Red Strings novel. But, like you, it's been a while so I'm not sure. Either way, I'm glad we got something.
I finally managed to see all of it (I watched bits and pieces throughout the day).
The episodes looked good and one can even excuse the penultimate episode. You see the aftermath, there is pain, but you want to believe that Hao Ting managed to move on in spite of it. Yes, there is a girlfriend, but that is not unrealistic. The really cheap shots start in the final episode. Hao Ting did not move on. His actual life stopped with Yu Xi Gu's death, everything he did since was for him. The flashbacks to happier times are designed to cut you. Not even Zhi Gang and Sun Bo's happiness (at least something!) can erase the fact that one gay character was killed and the other completely destroyed for pure shock effect. There are many stories with sad endings, but this was pure hurt porn. And then the Himalayas part which could imply that Hao Ting contemplates suicide to be with Yu Xi Gu. The only reason why I don't think that would actually happen is because he was talking with Sun Bo.
So no one can convince me that this wasn't done for shock effect. That is what pisses me off, you kill one gay character and completely destroy the other emotionally (maybe more) in the eve of 2020. If that is your 'real', keep it.
All the actors, even those in smallest roles in the final 2 episodes were great, but Wayne deserves Taiwan equivalent of Emmy. You believed him completely that he is a broken man. I hope the fans will support the actors in the future, but I'm not sure I'll trust the production team again.
Bonus pain: watch with possible Yu Xi Gu's time of death.
