Title About Youth
Uh time to throw Ye Guang’s parents in the garbage where they belong.
I can't wait to see how they resolve this plot line.

Y'all. I just finished watching HIStory3: Trapped again. And I remembered this storyline... And I ended up thinking back about the end of the show and how their relationship ended up. And it still hurts me a lot remembering that last scene with Hao Ting and Sun Bo... The pain, loss, and loneliness HT has been suffering since he lost Xi Gu was so raw. It was so hard to watch. And now my chest is aching for their story. Ugh

So i was waiting drama to finish so i can watch it as a whole. Wow, now i ll just have a big ending hole. It was…
You're so right. But I think the parents were trying to help HT push through his loss by encouraging him with Phoebe. Especially in the scene with HT and his mom and she feels her son's heartbreak even after all these years. They have seen and know how HT was forever changed by his loss and how he's just blazed through without any real life for the past 6 years. His only drive has been trying to make Shi Gu proud. Even them, they told him that if he doesn't feel that way for Pheobe, it's better to let the other person know than "waste their time". Alluding back to the title of the drama.

I watched Ep. 19 earlier in the day (and was wrecked) and then Ep. 20 tonight. Now that I've had a chance for…

Essentially, I cried for most of Ep 19 & 20. Wayne's acting, the grief, the loss, the longing, the love were all conveyed beautifully by him.

But this ending is a complete 180° and the tone of the last two episodes were almost completely antithetical to the other 18 episodes that preceded them. Not only did we see XHT's broken soul, but our hearts broke as well for YXG. His parents died in a car accident and now he dies in one, too? His dreams and aspirations, his hard work gone, incomplete. All in an instant. And at a time where he was happiest with a great love that's so rarely found, and in the case of this effing show, a great love that's also so tragically lost.

I could barely breathe watching these last episodes. There's already so much tragedy in BL and LGBT film/cinema, I always looked to HIStory to give me that escape. I don't know if I can trust HIStory again.
