I haven't finished the drama ver, so cant tell you what chapter it ends in the novel, but maybe its better for you to read it from the beginning, since there are so many differences

As far as I remember, she got attacked by the ppl from queen (crown prince's mom) side during her weak condition after giving birth to FX . Wu Zhu was forced to leave her alone to repel attack from "the temple" and he came back too late. After the incident, many ppl esp from the queen's side got massacred by Wu Zhu, Chen Ping Ping, and the emperor for revenge. But because too many coincidences happened during the attack (CPP was sent away etc, so nobody can guard FX's mom) CPP and Fan Jian started having doubt whether the emperor was involved or not in FX's mom death.

coz his existence is not known by other people... only few ppl close to FX's mom including the other grandmasters knew about Wu Zhu's power. So in fact, he can be considered as the 5th grandmaster in secret, his power overall is equal with the other grandmasters which is considered amazing, coz he doesnt have qi at all.

This is one of the plot twist near the end of the novel that surprised me the most actually, it really messed up everyone's plan and scheme LOL. Unlike the drama ver, the novel ver really deliberately let the reader believe that the emperor is a weak person who can't do martial arts at all.

there are many slight change in the drama ver, and I haven't seen the raw, so i cant say much about this. But in the novel, if im not wrong since it has been few years after i read the novel , there was no scheme, it was purely coincidence FX get to know info about the temple and his mom from xiao en's mouth before he die. The reason emperor and CPP sent FX to northern qi is purely because they put great faith in FX and want him to raise his rank faster by accomplishing big mission. But indeed, CPP is kinda afraid of the emperor and he believe the emperor took a part in FX's mom death. CPP is the greatest schemer in this story, and his purpose is to force the emperor reveal the truth, bring him down, and also protect FX by taking advantage of schemes from both emperor and elder princess li yun rui. Too bad, It failed because of the emperor's greatest secret.

yea, he got a happy end and living a leisure life after killing the emperor. Although he doesnt have place anymore in the Qing kingdom, he is still a teacher and half bro of the next emperor after all. He can also be treated as leader of dong yi as well, and not to mention his "forced illicit relationship" with the emperor of northern qi (she will have FX's child). He is pretty much untouchable in the 3 countries, and nobody dares to mess with him.

I read the novel few years ago, and I'm on episode 33 of drama ver now. I found there are many slight change like FX's mom was put into cyro sleep and woke up in the future (current setting) , while in the novel ver, actually FX's mom was the same as FX, reincarnated with the previous life memory still intact, and also there was no special letter for FX left behind by FX's mom, only 1 letter for Wu Zhu.
So I don't know if the drama adaption will make a slight change or not about Wu Zhu's origin. Anyway based on the novel, he is indeed a robot as everyone has said already or more specifically, he is a guardian of the "holy temple". The temple itself is actually managed by an AI and act as a civilization history keeper/humanity's guide after the earth calamity. If I'm not wrong, FX's mom was born there as a reincarnated person, later she became acquainted with Wu Zhu, and taught him human emotion.
In the end, she stole few things (including sniper rifle), ran away from that place with Wu Zhu, and started their great adventure together.

Hi, I made an account to reply your comment lol, I read the novel few years ago, and as far as I remember, you did guess it correctly. The current setting of this story is actually 10,000/100,000 years after most living beings on earth died due to a calamity, if I'm not wrong, it was a nuclear war, and the earth regressed to primitive time. The author also mentioned a theory of radiation becoming a qi/martial artist energy, and the surviving human managed to slowly adapt to it. The temple is actually like a humanity civilization history keeper/museum managed by an AI, and Uncle Wu Zhu is one of the guardian/ some kind of robot. The temple also act as an observer and guider to improve the surviving human civilization, and prevent them to reach the same end path as the previous civilization. And about the rifle, if im not wrong, FX's mom stole it from the temple/museum. She was born there, and same as FX, was reincarnated with her previous life memory. The sniper rifle was only used by FX's mom to kill the previous emperor and current emperor's past competitors. Without FX's mom help, the current emperor couldn't ascend to his throne, coz he was the weakest emperor candidate at that time.
