I often switch between German and English with my brother, mixing in some Japanese words while watching anime together.

I prefer writing in English even with other Germans in online gaming communities because some terms don't have a German equivalent. Switching to German can be a hassle when you are used to writing in English 99 % of the time. I always play with an English interface and English subtitles.

I believe you can pick up many words when watching a series in a foreign language with subtitles. Almost anything can be a learning opportunity if you are concentrated. I try to pay extra attention to the spoken words, comparing them with the subtitles. In my head, I'm constantly guessing unknown words from the context or the sentence structure. Sometimes, I might start autopiloting, only focusing on the subtitles, missing a lot of nuances.

Thai subtitles would help with listening comprehension. I could also look up words more easily. The Bad Buddy Box Set doesn't seem to come with Thai subs. Can anyone confirm this?

Currently, on my xth rewatch, I've lost count of how many times since its airing. I stopped turning on the subtitles a few months back. Whether my Thai improved or I just remembered every scene by heart, I don't know.

While waiting every Friday for a new episode of Bad Buddy, I decided to seriously learn Thai, prioritizing it until the fundamentals were hard-coded in my memory. It was my second attempt at studying the Thai script. The main reason I quit a year prior was probably that I just plain forgot about it since I hadn't watched any Thai dramas for some time.

I can proudly say that I've made considerable improvements over the past seven months. OhmNanon kept me in high spirits and motivated me during the more challenging aspects of learning Thai. I'm glad I stuck with it. The learning curve becomes genial and smooth after overcoming the initial hurdles like mastering the script and getting familiar with the sounds.

My love for learning languages, Thai in this case, goes beyond my obsession with Ohm Pawat. I'd continue learning Thai even if I'd quit Thai BLs altogether. I might seriously consider it since I can't get invested in any other characters for the time being. Bad Buddy raised the bar high.

If Bad Buddy didn't exist, I'd have missed out on numerous conversations with Thai people on Tandem (a language exchange app). They are very friendly, open-minded, and ready to help. Unfortunately, I didn't take it upon myself to make a phone call. It's just not for me, I guess.

Besides Thai, I also picked up some Korean and Japanese. Sometimes, I wonder if I should concentrate on French or Spanish, since the Romance languages show a high level of lexical similarity. Learning an Asian language feels like a fresh start in comparison (I'm from Germany). My proclivity for studying languages with non-Latin scripts is infelicitous. Why should you make it simple when you can make it complicated? Doesn't complication equal fun?

I'm gradually building up my vocabulary with Anki and Memrise. Over the past months, I've built an eclectic aggregation of websites to learn grammar for free. Some notable sites are ThaiPod101, learnwitholiver, and thai-language. My favorite channel on YouTube is Thai Lessons by New. I could suggest additional sites and dictionaries if anyone is interested, but there probably aren't a lot of Thai learners in this comment section, are there?

If I'm not rewatching Bad Buddy, I will likely spend my leisure time simultaneously reading the Thai version of Behind the Scenes and the English version. I recommend trying to read the original, even if you have a vocabulary gap. I know it can be daunting, but you can often match the unfamiliar words with the English equivalents from the context. It helps if you read it once in English already.

I hope life treats you all well. I personally can't wait for 10 Years Ticket to be aired.

I can't put into words how much I miss them. I'll always cherish the time when this series was still airing as one of my most precious experiences. We were discussing, analyzing, and theorizing while waiting for Friday to come at last. Until then, I had already rewatched every episode multiple times, so far as knowing all the dialogues by heart.

My expectations were being surpassed with each new episode. At around episode 10, I started to get emotional with just the thought of this series coming to an inevitable end.

OhmNanon and P'Aof will have my support for any of their future endeavors. I couldn't finish any BLs besides Not Me and Heartstopper since Bad Buddy started airing. PatPran have truly raised my standards. I hope Bad Buddy will come to Netflix and will be appreciated by a wide range of people with all kinds of backgrounds.

I recommend everyone who enjoyed Bad Buddy to read the novel and support the authors. I usually have a hard time starting a novel, but I finished reading this one in just 2 or 3 days. It felt like the characters were being brought to life by OhmNanon's impeccable acting once more, just from my imagination and being so emotionally invested in PatPran.

Glad to see this MDL page being so active still. It's been a month since the final episode and there hasn't been a single day that I didn't think of OhmNanon.

I think there's plenty to learn from them individually and their relationship with their familiy and how they treat their fans. I try to be more like them each day.

It's no overstatement that I have become a different person after watching BBS. I'm spending more time with my family, I'm more talkative and affectionate. I started working out regularly again, after a half year of break during which I lost a lot of weight. My sleep schedule has improved, me going to sleep earlier. I've been more productive and motivated in general.

OhmNanon will have a place in my heart forever. I'm very thankful for getting to know them and this community. I'm happy that I can come back here every once in a while to find things still being the same.

Does anyone know if the DVD BOXSET has Thai subtitles? I don't understand why some series on yt provide subtitles in 30+ different languages, but don't include subs for the spoken language. It would be very helpful for someone learning the language, but maybe I'm just a very small minority. I wonder what will happen first, they start to add Thai subtitles on yt or the series will be available on Netflix in Europe. Perhaps I should just use a VPN for Thai region.

I'm German, learning Thai for a few months now. Maybe thanks to Ohm Pawat. The language is quite unique and the grammar is rather simple compared to English and Korean.

Auto-translate from English subs into Thai does work, that would probably be a decent solution for someone with hearing impairment. I can't find an option on yt for automatic subs from the audio, though. I need Thai subtitles to study the language.

Are there any sites where you can watch Thai series with Thai subs? Do those DVDs from GMMTV provide Thai subtitles? There must be some support for people with hearing impairment. I hope Bad Buddy will come to Netflix.

I read the novel around the time when the 7th episode aired. I had the Bad Buddy OST playing in the background the whole time. My favorites were CLNGR – Not Right (instrumental version) and Across The Great Valley – Cold Light of Day.

I've only read a few novels because I have a hard time bringing myself to start reading, and I can't help but miss sound. It was very easy to get into the novel because I was already invested in the characters. Watching the show beforehand definitely helped my imagination too.

My experience reading the novel was very enjoyable, I loved how they kept switching perspectives between Pat and Pran. We were mostly left in the dark about Pat's point of view in the first 4 episodes of the series. The novel isn't perfect, the show is a lot more refined, but the improvement from the novel was very satisfying to witness.

I think reading the novel made the watching experience a lot better and the show even more impressive. People who didn't read the novel probably can't relate how much of an impact Pat and Pran running away together in EP 11 had on me.

Pat & Pran had quite a few conversations with their parents in the novel. I hope we will see more about the parents in a special EP. I'm writing too much, sorry.

I don't trust the MDL score whatsoever. The ratings by Age Group are above 9.2 stars. Bad Buddy might just be the highest rated drama on this site. Or there is something wrong with the ratings by Age Group, but 8.6 stars does definitely seem lower than I would expect considering the overwhelming amount of 10-star reviews and positive feedback.

Bad Buddy and The Untamed are the only series that I rated 10/10. Ohm Pawat is the first actor who I have followed this closely. I never got attached to a person to the degree of watching a series just for all the scenes of that particular actor, even if it meant skipping through most of the series. Finding a quality BL with tolerable acting, chemistry is getting increasingly difficult. I didn't get invested in any other recent shows, and forgot about most of them along the way. I might just finish Not Me and rewatch Bad Buddy until I can understand everything without subtitles and know every single word they are saying in Thai. Nanon's acting is excellent, but I'm not too fond of his serious, leader type characters in Blacklist and The Gifted. I'll definitely check out some of his other works though.

Btw, just wanted to thank everyone who has been supporting, discussing and analyzing Bad Buddy and made this whole experience much better. I don't plan to say goodbye to Bad Buddy anytime soon. #PatandPranForever #ThankYouBadBuddySeries
