i agree! i think the writer's point was to show junho as a model for the viewers on how we should approach, interact, and create meaningful relationships with people in the spectrum.
in contrast, the people around junho who are against their relationship can serve as our bias check, to see (and eventually correct) if we also have the same prejudice as those characters.
i feel like the same thing is happening here as with "everything everywhere all at once" on film twitter, where people have started calling popular things overhyped. i get the criticisms, especially during the second half of the drama, but i'm not sure how the drama is bland/boring? like what the others have said here, i think it's really just youngwoo's coming-of-age story set in a legal backdrop and the cases (which some are based on real-life events according to the writer) are supposed to reflect youngwoo's personal journey.
i think some people have super high expectations for this drama when it's ultimately a simple story normalizing a character in the spectrum. that's what's so good about it, it's just taking existing tropes that we know and love and making them fresh by telling them from an autistic person's perspective.
lastly, why are people looking for other reasons for junho to be attracted to youngwoo? isn't it enough that she's pretty, smart, passionate, and kind--like normal qualities that most of you here look for in a partner? does it have to be complicated?
LOM is one of the few dramas that successfully AND truly maximized the love triangle and the will they-won't they tropes. they really kept us guessing who taekyung will end up with until the last episode. seriously a top-notch drama, BL or otherwise. hoping for a season 2 or a spin-off!
why are some of the comments mad at han seo dying during the last episode? y'all should've seen it coming lmao the last few episodes were literally a set up for that. the writer didn't do him dirty, it was a fitting end. he started as a dirtbag, switched sides and in the end, proved that he really changed by sacrificing himself. it's a satisfying end to his arc, it felt natural and not a betrayal to his character.
the series really shined the most when it focused on the three female leads, their complex relationship with one another, and their professional lives. i especially love it when they show how badass they are.
as for the romance, i really love cha hyeon and seol ji hwan's story the most. i just feel like bae ta mi and park morgan's story was kind of dragging and were just going back and forth.
anyways, i hope we get more dramas centered on empowered and empowering women!
