@KelePhillips Harris, I hate to tell you this, but China still lives in a bubble. Unless you use a VPN in China…
YOU SAID 100% RACIST! That involves RACE! You said it, not me. Don't say it if you don't want to be called on it. Race has nothing to do with this. No one is superior over anyone else, we are all people. I agree we are taught different things, but again it still comes down to choices. Bottom line. Done with that part of the conversation.

I totally agree with you that dad is pissed off...right now. But dad also has a history of making mistakes, and shouldn't be overly angry for long. He remembers, I'm sure, what shame feels like, so I'm hoping dad will find some compassion and empathy for his son, which is sorely lacking right now, in general, in society. Haven't you made mistakes? If you haven't, get a little older, then we'll revisit this conversation and I'll ask you how YOU felt! LOL! Again, he's very young and inexperienced with how the world works, (he's also inexperienced with how China works vs the USA, which is a whole other conversation!) wisdom will come with age....and mistakes will continue. But he shouldn't be defined by his mistakes, because we ALL make them, public persons or not, and that's what bugs me the most.

Oh, so do you live there? Let's be clear: This subject, for me, has nothing to do with race. AT. ALL. While certain media tends to be "biased," others really aren't or try hard not to be. (So, don't pull that card on me; it won't work on me, and it's not true, no matter how much you want to believe it.) There are many forms of media nowdays, most are going 24 hours a day. Please don't enlighten me about propganda, (every country has some form of it, it's the way of the world.) treating me like I'm ignorant. You don't know me and therefore you don't know what I believe or dont; you didn't even inquire, you just assumed. Also, I didn't say everyone shares the same values and opinions, I said everyone has a CHOICE whether they want to live by upright values or not, isn't that true? "Authentic things"? Please tell me what that means, so I don' t misunderstand. Authentic means "genuine" and I want to believe that as a person, (not the celebrity, not the persona) CFY is a genuine person. You know why? Because he told the truth when the pictures came out. He could have made excuses, but he didn't. Just because he's a public figure, doesn't make him any LESS human. I'm also sure that he's genuinely sorry that the pics came out, because now he has to deal with the consequences. See? Again, it's about the choices we make.

Excuse me, but just like one doesn't have to stub their toe to know it will hurt, one really doesn't need to visit a country to understand what goes on, even in part, in that country. Bypassing propoganda, which is on 24/7, China's history speaks for itself. Now if China (speaking of the government) would "happily" allow foreigners freely again, without restrictions, then I would gladly travel there. For you to tell me to visit when it's severely restricted, is a moot point. China's values aren't any different than any other nation. We all make choices that shape our values. Whether or not we decide to live by certain upright values or not, depends on the person and the society around them.
I just don't get why this culture hasn't changed. American entertainers' lives are always in the news and tabloids…
@KelePhillips Harris, I hate to tell you this, but China still lives in a bubble. Unless you use a VPN in China (which is supposed to be illegal btw) everything is monitored by the Chinese government. They don't know about the "outside" world. While some may know what Netflix and Disney is, (again VPN) or they live in "tier 1 cities", most of the population, especially older folks don't know a thing about the West. It's why the have their own platforms like Weibo, Douyin, WeChat, Bilibili and the like, because it's monitored and censored when needed. This could be why the culture is the way it is, because it speaks of immaturity and don't get me started on the culture and they way they view life in general. We in the West do look at it differently, but until things (or regimes) change in the country, it will remain like this. Arthur is young and impulsive, and as someone else mentioned, grew up in the USA, where life is different. I'm sure he's rethinking his denouncing of his citizenship right about now. I'm sure money has something to do with it, but he's got to deal with life differently in China, a lesson earned, is a lesson learned. I sincerely hope this doesn't wreck his career when it's just getting started. (Anyone remember Zhang Zhehan?)
Oh my gosh, you haven't seen Mr Queen yet? That's one of the funniest Korean dramas I think I've ever seen...for me anyway. I laughed so much at the poor "Queen's" antics! We do have a few dramas in common though, so great list. I may check a few of these out.
I'm hearing this will be coming to DVD in November of 2021. If that's the case, I may be buying it. I'm hoping it will get picked up by Netflix and /or Amazon Prime for viewing in the USA, etc. as well, because as far as I've seen and read, he's most excellent in this film!
Wow...You must major in psychology, because I didn't think from that angle at all, although I totally agree with you, it is the "boy band' effect. I totally get it. I don't think there's any girl ALIVE that hasn't gone through intense love of an actor or singer (even I loved my favorite boys in my favorite bands and TV shows!...not saying who these are as it will give my age away) and this drama is one of the best because of all of the eye candy there is to enjoy and squeal over! And you're right, that is a good picture of Marius Wang Zhou Cheng! Great article! Now I have to go watch it again for the 5th time...see ya!
