The ending felt a bit rushed with too much business action... I would've loved to see XY's in-laws sit down and admit that they put pressure on the fl to lie about her background (mostly the mom) and officially accept her into the family. The same goes for the male lead, I don't think I remember a scene where he apologised for his actions (maybe I missed something). I felt like I was watching the drama and at some point they just got back together.
I'm rewatching this and I have to say Sang Yan in ep 12 in that white button up shirt and black blazer it's something else I can't stop rewinding 🫠🫠😂🙈
Glad you're enjoying the leads. They don't get together until almost halfway...so I guess at least that's going…
As I said above the music that is 'bothering' is the one that plays during dialogue. I appreciate bgm in dramas but it needs to be used smartly and unfortunately is not the case here as it actually distracts the viewer from the scene itself. But this seems to be the style of the director, given the other dramas I see he worked on. 🙈
I'm on ep 10 and at this point I can say that there are 2 things that bother me with this drama: 1. Loud background music, especially during dialogues (they keep recycling this one piano melody and it keeps playing on and on and on...). I don't understand Chinese, so obviously I rely on subtitles, but the random songs are still annoying. 2. Actors faces are blurred to oblivion, sometimes even their mouths and jawlines suffer from the heavy filters.
Otherwise, I enjoy the acting of the main leads and I think they have nice chemistry. They play the enemy to lovers trope well, I hope though that they don't get together too early that'll take half the fun away. Will continue to watch, hope it doesn't have a disappointing ending. 🤞
but FL herself was not sure if it was true and how would ML believe her
There is no way Song Mo would just believe her if she told him she lived through these events before, it took a while for him to completely trust her. She did her best to try to help him, but sometimes he still chose to do as he pleased and ignored her advice. And as the previous commenter said, Dou Zhou had no info on how Duke Ding or his mother died, even if the book was mentioning the events taking place it didn't give details on how they would happen.
can't get over how good park min young looks in every scene. I'm literally swooning over it. tho I'm a bit worried…
She literally looks amazing in this drama though. If u watched some of her previous works la Marry My Husband you'll know she was much skinnier there and now she got back some roundness to her face and it's obvious on her arms and abdomen too that she gained weight. She looks great here and really she said it herself that she's healthy and we should stop talking about her weight.
in today's episode they mentioned a country named idisha(fake name) by that do they mean any country in particular??
What I want to know is why create a fake Middle East country while you use real countries names (China, North Korea, Irak) for others. I don't understand who are they trying to please....
Look in other dramas I really didn’t like making 2ML obsessed with a woman he met 3 or 4 times. But in SL I…
The fact that he likes Shuang and cannot let go of their past together is not the problem, but it really bothered me when he blamed Jinan for killing Prince Li... I feel like the writers tried to make us see the 2nd lead as this pitiable character that is supposed to get the viewers' sympathy but in the end they ruin him and probably will give us some bs redemption scene at the end where he dies for the fl or sum sh*it.
I'm at ep 25 and I'm really close to dropping this because of the 2nd male lead... Like is it really necessary to make the 2nd lead so unlikeable and frustrating? I think the viewers can appreciate the 1st male lead without having to make the comparison with the shitty 2nd lead. Just personal opinion but it's more enjoyable if both male leads are likeable and it's difficult to choose between them. Lately we are getting only selfish, hypocritical 2nd male leads that make me want to skip good portions of dramas.
I'm on episode 2 and I feel like everything is too fast paces, does the pacing get better afterwards?
Yes, it does. The first ep is edited very weird, they probably removed a lot of scenes to cut down the episodes number but it's more visible in the beginning.
Are there any drama similar to this? (I love the concept of the time portal where they experience different stories/life)
I personally don't know of any that have this concept where they doing keep doing tribulations over and over again but there are plenty of dramas with immortals very similar to this. Some recommendations: Love Between Fairy and Devils, The Last Immortal, The Stary Love, The Blossoming Love.
Tbh, it will just make the actor look like a pedo.
Please delete this comment, it's inappropriate... The ml actor has no choice on the matter of the fl and he signed the contract for this drama months before the fl actress was even chosen. At this point let's just hope there would ne no explicit scenes between them and really I don't understand why I haven't seen this much debate regarding the actress being a minor when she was playing romantic scenes in MJTY or FOF.
Seems that this drama is more about food than lawyers. They keep showing the main characters eating lunch/dinner together multiple times per episode and it's a bit repetitive. Hope it gets more interesting -
Can you recommend a similar drama which has everything you mentioned? I've seen couple of dramas which has everything…
I'm not the op - but I'd personally recommend Love like the galaxy, A dream of splendor, Blossom, Flourished Peony, The legend of anle, The Double, Luoyang.
