I understand your point. But I think his act was an act of ego at that point. May be not later, may be not earlier. But at that point, he was angry at Teh not responding to him romantically. And Teh gave up the seat for him, not because Oh was a failure but because he knew Oh was first in line in the waiting list and so he could give it up and still attend the exam and pass (knowing he was the better one when it comes to academics which is true!), so they could both be together! But Oh still rejected that because he didn't get what he wanted romantically. Which is why after all the mess, he openly says to Teh in the end...if you want to NOT be my boyfriend fine..but just be with me! And he also feels guilty that Teh is in the place he is because of him! So Oh himself reveals thru his words in the end that what had happened was on account of overreaction from both their parts no doubt but especially consequential was the overreaction on his part! So my point about him having ego is not a mischaracterisation of Oh as a person but what he did at that moment!
And Oh rejecting the sacrifice wasn't about not wanting a handout....lol! The guy literally studied even AFTER the breakup, with Teh's flash cards! Come on! So much for wanting to do it on his own. This was a boy wanting his friend to react to him romantically and when he didn't, he went all 'mine is just as big as yours' and acted up. (Which is pretty common for that age. I know. I have been there!lol! ) And Teh, well....now he is the idiot in the whole thing and that isn't a mischaracterisation. lol!

Hey...thanks for that. But I think you got my review wrong. I wasn't saying the series glorified said behaviour. Thats why I started my post with saying this isn't about the series. I was commenting on the story and the behaviour of the people in it and running a commentary on how that is a scenario I never want to be in and am sure no one else does as well. :-) Nowhere did the series encourage that. It is just a story told in a beautiful way. Am just saying the story is something I hope no one goes thru in real life! :-) All that said, I agree with you and I think you agree with me as well that this way of giving up is just wrong. The problem is when it comes to asian or Indian content, we tend to overdo it on the sacrificial part and call it love because well, love has to be that intense right? Well, yes but it also can be sensible. :-)
So this isn't a review on the series as much as it is on the story! The series is really well done and the guy who plays Teh can truly act. And everything about this series says art art and more art. Now coming to the story! This story is basically my worst nightmare! The guy is a school topper, and gives up his place in the university for his best friend. But the best friend is so full of ego, he would much rather attempt it on his own when he has failed many times in the past. And then they both study, and right before exam, the guy gets heart broken about his best friend moving on and spends half the time crying in the bathroom and not topping his exam, while the best friend writes his exams uncaring of the whole deal and gets to the university while the guy who literally sacrificed it all gets stuck in a place he doesn't want to be! Like I said...basically my worst nightmare scenario in a relationship! I don't ever want to be Oh-Aew and I most definitely will never be Teh! Like seriously! Imagine the burden, guilt, remorse and regret these two will certainly carry ten years into their relationship, if it lasts that long! And when the series ends, there is not even a sorry. Its like lets not talk about it And he is like - Okay I won't! Lol! Again, my worst nightmare! No one...I mean NO ONE should have to sacrifice their purpose in life to keep a relationship, It shouldn't be expected, neither should it be demanded, neither should it be placated, neither should it be encouraged! You will have the relationship but you will lose your life and then in the end you will blame the very same relationship for how screwed up your life became!

Lol you just proved my point! Did I ever mention am not a fan of the series? I actually am. That’s why I am commenting here. I thought 2gether was really good at least until the 10th episode. I was horrified by what they did to such a good show in the end. And yesterday I was watching Still2gerhet as it premiered and totally loved it! But I can assure you half the hatred for this series comes because of toxic fans and not because of the series itself! I mean you have 2gether fans purposely leaving bad reviews on competitor shows just to bring down rating or just to somehow skip in a word appreciating 2gether! Highly unnecessary! By and large people liked the series but were disappointed with the last few episodes. There is nothing g wrong with that. There is no need to pounce on anyone with alternate views. It actually does great disservice to the series by the way!

That is really stupid, if true! Gulf announced he broke up right about the TharnType was released and blowing up. So if she feels bad about MewGulf then, what about now lol?! They are practically working together every single day!! Besides, it doesn’t make sense for her to get angry firstly because she knows it is a working relationship and it is also her bf’s initial step to success. And also that she can’t be angry with a co-star who actually has nothing to do with her or her relationship. This is why I am not a supporter of the whole couple-shipping thing in Thailand. It is not good for the actors and especially younger actors like Gulf can have their lives completely altered because of way too much pretending and acting both on and off camera. How long can a straight guy pretend to be gay before it gets to be too much of acting?! I wish guys would just act and move on!
