Just completed the series, I'm ugly crying throughout ep 49 ðŸ˜By ep 49, all of my prediction was proven to be…
> I was right about the meaning behind her smile
Wait, what did I miss? When? At the ending scene? Wasn't it because Qin Yan sent her away from the palace as her wanted her to be happy, and since she entered, she smiled less and less?
It's good, but not spectacular, but as suspense and investigative dramas it's worth watching. It reminds me a lot of Nordic Noir dramas Acting was pretty great for the most part, except for some minor characters. Storytelling was good, though it tries too much to keep you on your toes, and there's nothing left for the ending to surprise the audience, so the ending was too obvious.
This probably should be on the watchlist of anyone who wished to be introduced to Jiang Qiqin, as it looks like she doesn't have a lead role in anything recent but this.
This is going right into my favorite CDramas list. Great storytelling, funny, sweet, touching. (almost) No annoying characters, right amount of secondary couple.
Superb acting, body swapping isn't that easy to convey, but it was very convincing. Liang Jie is such a mature actress, even when she holds back, you cannot stop from falling for her. Steven Zhang also done amazing job. My first thoughts were that is too boring and bland, but very quickly he won me over. Overall, great acting, leads had great chemistry, and was a big part of the reason why I loved this drama. The casting dep' should also pat themselves on the back.
If you're on the fence, then don't be, you should really watch this, it's probably one of the best 2021 CDrama romcoms. Just make sure to savor it, watch slowly because it's too short.
Thailand works with VPN. That’s how I’m watching.
3 months free doesn't account for much when the subscription is costly. 24 months subscription cost me a little bit less than 60USD. Safety? I feel this is just a marketing tool, there's no going around being tracked, as long as browsers still have unique fingerprints then you will be tracked. Everything is switching to HTTPS and now DNS over TLS or HTTPS will be forced everywhere via the browser with DNSCrypt so MiM attack are a thing of the past. The only reason I need VPN is to bypass geo-restrictions and any cheapo service will do.
Thailand works with VPN. That’s how I’m watching.
Thank you. Good to know that Singapore is also an option. I'm already using Surfshark, mainly because it's dirt cheap, offers a Chrome extension, iOS and Android apps, and supports WireGuard. I noticed that VPN services have been raising their prices (e.g. NordVPN, AirVPN) so it's not only about paying less, it's also about supporting the more affordable services.

Thank you! Is Thailand is your go-to country to set when a content is geo-restricted on WeTV? any others? I was surprised that it was blocked for Hong Kong but available for Taiwan.
Anyone watching through WeTV.vip? which country do you live in? I can't seem to be able to bypass with my VPN the geo-restriction, I tried quite a few countries. edit: NVM, it works with a Taiwanese IP address, but sadly, and as expected, I can't use my current VIP subscription as it reveals my location and then the content is blocked again. edit2: Holy moly it works! WeTV.vip was a bit confused at first but it now lets me watch with my VIP subscription through a VPN set on Taiwan as the exit node.
I felt grateful for two things from this drama :The comic relief and Introduction to Zhang Nan. I absolutely found…
Yes, I loved the introduction of Zhang Nan's character, how it changed the dynamics of the relationships, it made me fell in love with her character and be anxious for her getting together with Wei Yi Chen. This was handled quite well and cleared a path for both each of the two couples to be together. The mess in the second season really put me off of her character as she became the most naive and gullible person in the drama without enough context or maybe not enough strong scenes to back it up.
That being said, ZN was mesmerizing in every scene she was in and she's the only one in this CDrama that I can say about her that. She also caught my attention in The Legend of Hao Lan, she was mesmerizing in it also, I had my jaw drop and my attention completely on her every time she appeared on the screen, and that's not easy to achieve and for me to admit considering that I adore Wu Jin Yan and she's such an amazingly talented actress.
This is not good, to say the least. I just finished watching the whole 24 chapters on iQIYI international (iq.com and the international app) and while it is somewhat interesting at the beginning you'll soon find the story has some issues and it does not always make sense. The first season (firsts 12 episodes) is bearable, but the second one is another matter. It's stitched together from whatever content the production was managed to film and there are clearly missing scenes and the ending just makes it a lot worse.
On the other hand, Molly Wang and Zhang Nan are hot! I don't wish to write bad words and I'm not suitable to judge so I won't mention the acting abilities of some of the cast. I will only say that I wish that MW will get more main roles in the future because this one doesn't do her justice, and I hope we will see more of her.
The only good reason to watch this is if you're into MW, and if so then just watch the first season, and remember to thank me after.
| A love of a lifetime that lasted a lifetime, Yinxiang (Wang An Yu) and Xiao Wei (Landy Li) deserved that!... Why? Why could he not travel back to the present? Why? Why? Why? Those letters were heart-breaking!
Patricia, you put into words what I felt when watching this drama. I still have very strong feelings about the finale even though two months already passed since I watched it.
I had mixed feelings about this drama since the first chapter, but I stayed due to the superb and delightful performance by Landy Li and kept going even though at some point all these schemes and conniving characters became too tiresome. But the last chapter made me so annoyed and sad. It was too rushed and didn't do justice to the relationship between Xiao Wei and Yinxiang. Even if we accept this bond across time, why there's zero acknowledgment by these two in the end? Oh! We got us a hitchhiker and Wham BAM, The End! Really??? Give use some fluffy details, implant some magic memory flashbacks in both of them so they would, in some level, be aware of their previous life together and walk into the sunset together holding hands or something like that. Just don't leave use hanging.
The talented Li Qin looks so young, WOW! was it her first acting gig? I feel like she's acting the same way so I recognized her immediately even though she looks so much younger in this. There are also Li Ruo Jia and Zanilia Zhao of princess agents, and Anna Fang and Gao Yang of Yanxi Place, I haven't found them yet but will surely try to. I'm not sure if I should watch it, it looks a bit boring, but it might worth skimming through it and watch the scenes that include the so many talented actors/actresses portraying the minor characters.
Depending on where you're living, geo-blocking might forbid access to some of the linked content. I use two services to workaround these restrictions:
1. Wachee's Unblocker for YouTube Chrome extension. This service offers pretty fast proxy servers even on the free tier, and the Pro subscription is just 10USD for the whole year with a free 7 days trial period. Be advised that the customer support response time is pretty slow, it can take them a week, but they do respond.
2. Surfshark VPN It's a very affordable VPN that allows bypassing geo-restrictions by connecting to a VPN server in a specific country to get an IP address that belongs to that region. Any other VPN will work, but the main reasons why I chose this service are: * Price, about 2.5USD per month * Availability of a Chrome browser extension * Availability of apps for iOS and Android
3. SmartDNSProxy In this context, I believe it's only relevant to Viki and when you access the site it will give access to content available to US users. I use it for unblocking other sites so having it works with Viki was an added benefit. Search for coupons around US federal holidays, the subscription can be very affordable, and the subscription fees will stay fixed on the same reduced price, at least as long as you're still subscribed to the service. It cost me ~35$ for three years, so ~12$ a year which is way lower than paying for VPN. With the service, you also get for free a VPN service for up to 5 devices which is great for portable devices on public WiFi networks, but at ATM, it doesn't help to unblock Youtube videos while other VPNs do work for this purpose.
4. Malus VPN, the Malus VPN Chrome extension, and the Malus VPN iOS app This helps with unblocking some content on Mainland China media sites. I don't use it much as I only started learning Chinese and I don't know if you can get around the requirement for local Mainland phone number linked accounts on these sites, and be able to subscribe to paid plans like iQiyi VIP. The service offers a free tier and also 30 days refundable period for the VIP subscription. So far I didn't have any problem streaming HD content with the free tier. The iOS app seems to be working nicely with content on other apps like the Qiyi iOS app. Besides Qiyi the service was also helpful with unblocking geo-restricted videos on Bilibili.
5. Unblock Youku Chrome extension This is a proxy which supposes to get you the same result as Malus, unblocking Mainland China content, but it looks to be considerably slower even with Malus free tier. It's still a worthy mention as a free service and an open-source extension.
You should be advised that it's possible that the mentioned Chrome extensions might interact badly with each other, so if the content is still blocked then try to disable the other VPN or proxy extensions.
6. VPNProxyMaster iOS app I use it to unblock YouTube videos on my iPad when I’m not at home and can’t use the proxy service of SmartDNSProxy which is tied to my home router IP address. If the VPN service of SmartDNSProxy (included with the DNS proxy service) was helping to unblock YouTube videos then I wouldn’t need VPNProxyMaster. The free tier of VPNProxyMaster is good enough for watching 1080P videos, but the VIP subscription is overpriced. If I would ever need a VPN service I’ll probably choose the more affordable NordVPN.
