Well the issue rise when the drama plot got leak and the plot was said to be taken from real event (fighting for democracy event) and the drama distort the original event. I dont really know the detail but i understand why they mad. I dont know where you are from but if you come from a country that was colonized before just imagine one of your country history event fighting for freedom/democracy where a lot of people die but suddenly someone made a movie/drama of that event but they are love story with the enemy that kill your people and try to oppress your people. I dont encourage people to hate the cast but i think people should understand why korean people mad about this drama before making comment. I think the problem with this drama is they made is based on real event on the history. There are also a love drama between N.korea and S. Korea "the king 2 heart" played by lee seung gi and ha ji won. That drama didnt really get hate because it is pure alternative world meanwhile this drama you can easly google it that it is based on "real event", let me stressed it again REAL EVENT.
