Okay put it this way. I was upset that Perth and Lay were not paired up in this show in the beginning, now watching the episodes I'm quite glad they were spared from this awful Wal-Mart version of Our Skyy.
This needs to start getting some love, because it's something that you don't see every day and deserves praise and accolades just like Gameboys or HIStory does.
It's interesting because in the USA, the majority of LGBT relationships on TV are female relationships. Rare do you see two men have a romance, its' definitely not as common as two females.
Yet in Thailand/Japan/Phillipines/S. Korea etc there are so much more male/male romances then female/female
I wonder if that has to do with the USA's obsession with fetishizing lesbian relationships and still being uncomfortable with two men.
I hope we go towards the day where LGBT representation is equal but unfortunately there's still a long way to go. All we can do is hope that the quality and content for LGBT community increases. More films, more TV shows, longer episodes(looking at you S. Korea)
This drama deserves better than the rating it has. To me this is one of the best sci fi dramas I've ever seen. Fantastic story, intricate plotlines, amazing twists that you won't see coming, paying attention to minute details, making everything important and stakes always high.
Things that you thought were just background decoration in one episode turn out to be vastly important in the next one. Acting was also top notch from the entire cast.
A wonderful drama that deserves better than to be criticized for its complex(in some people's opinion) ending.
For anyone interested in watching this drama just do yourself a favor and stop at episode 9. It's a wonderful ending in and of itself and you don't need to continue and if you want to continue it you have some wonder fic writers that can give you a much more fulfilling ending.
Don't let the ending effect the overall show. Unless your Game of Thrones then the ending makes the entire show completely and utterly irrelevant. *Yes I am still bitter*
Y'all should have learned by now, don't watch HIStory dramas while they're airing. The cliffhangers are a bitch. It's better to wait it out and then bingewatch it, in one seating.
I gotta laugh at one thing. The way that in the flashback scenes from 20+ years ago the main male leads are still played by the same people. Look y'all got nice clear skin but no way in hell are any of you passing for 20 year olds.
I have the opposite view, I enjoyed YoonLay in YYY much more than PerthLay in MyEng, although I like both couples.…
It's difficult to measure a main couple to a secondary couple though it does speak of Perthlay's chemistry that they completely took over My Engineer and became the most beloved couple even over the main pairing. Yoonlay had all the screentime in YYY cause they were the main and basically only couple. Give Perthlay that kind of screentime and main couple status which they deserve and see it skyrocket.
Not to mention A03 and Youtube clearly show that Perthlay in My Engineer is way more popular then Yoonlay in YYY.
Type up both pairings and see just how big the gap is in views.
You know can I just say they really blew an opportunity here. Cause to me it's clear as day that Perth and Talay have far better chemistry than Talay and Yoon. It could have been a nice right of passage to have Talay and Yoon be the couple in the past and Perth and Talay be the present day couple.
I watched the drama from S1 - S2 without the wait and I gotta ask what is so endearing about Sun Oh?
Sun Oh has not matured or grown up whatsoever between the 4 year time jump. He's still an egomaniac. He's still selfish. He still only cares about his feelings and nobody else's. He doesn't care about Jojo's mental health. He doesn't realize how much anxiety he's given Jojo since S1. He's still very immature and "me me me" attitude.
Yes he's got a pretty face but I'm not seeing any endearing qualities whatsoever to be like yes she should have picked him. Just cause he was her first love is not enough to be like he should be the last one as well.
Imagine being so butthurt because she chose the guy that was kind, respectful, and patient with her over the douchebag. Can't relate. She ended up with the right guy. I don't give a shit if Sun Oh was hotter, Hye Young was a much kinder and perfect match for Jojo.
I am sincerely begging for forgiveness for all the people who were hurting for a long time while seeing me in the media, as an actor. I will reflect and repent on the unforgivable actions of my past.
When he said this you knew this was a blanket statement. A piece of shit a-hole. He never was gonna come out and he sure as heck didn't look like he was going through anxiety in his career prior to this. He's acting like this cause he got caught.
Welp don't be a piece of shit and this won't happen to you. Hopefully this scumbags career is over and he goes to jail for that sexual assault. The traumatizing experience he put his victims through, he should not be celebrated he should be ruined.
All 3 of the BL K dramas have been great I hope they have more coming. I know there's one more left of the 4 that were announced at the end of 2020 but by any chance have more been announced since then?
I'll just wait for My Engineer S2.
