Haha it did but 17 episodes in.. haha I was bored. Do you have any other period piece recommendations for this era? I'm use to watching Xianxia, Wuxia and historical comstume dramas. I'm trying to branch out to other genres

rated a solid 7.8 good show alot of toxic male masculinty (unfotunately) but appropriate for the 'era' and region. Wouldnt watch twice but not mad that I watched it. It was a break from the typical dramas I watch. I would say the story doesnt pick up romance/drama wise until ep 17 ish. Overall, not bad of a show. It depends on your taste and what you like to watch. If anyone has any other great period piece recommendations from this genre of era please let me know.

agree to disagree but I also see where you're coming from. I think its fitting the masculine energy from what it wouldve been like "back then" during that 'era' and sometimes is still like that now(unfortunately). However, it gets better after their relationship develops (in more episodes ...past the 5th). But I totally see what you mean as well. Its the toxic masculinty energy but a bit of possesiveness where he shows his love in that kind of way but then it makes sense further in the drama. Its a typical love romance toxic "you're mine and only mine" kind of show for all the men in the drama but thats also how most (not all men) were raised during the 'era' they are trying to portray.

100% agreed esp the SA. I think that part of the plot couldve been left out/changed. it didnt really serve a purpose to the show and the show wouldve been the same even if she was just taken without the SA.

hes the guy thats working for ....and trying to mislead... the prince heng yang. But im sure the prince has no idea what the old guy is doing in the background

There are so many good shows to watch though. Like everlasting longing. Sigh not as great as Flourished Peony though but still a good watch.
