A taboo subject takes a long time to be tackled "correctly." I beg to differ about western cultures tackling mental health in a realistic (there's truly not just 1 way of doing so) manner. There's a lot of films and series that deal with mental health issues in a way that's more nuanced that what I've seen so far in SK dramas.

Totally get it. In the USA that would be a HIPPA violation. We must remember that South Korea has only recently (compared to other countries) tackled mental health in all aspects, not just in dramas. It's considered taboo to talk about one's mental health. I find this fascinating since I've loved the fact they openly showcase men crying and having other emotions not considered "manly" in many cultures. I think they have a long way to go in learning but the fact they included that with one of the beloved characters says a LOT!

Excellent series. They used nuanced bits of history to make such a masterpiece. I weep for the lack of knowledge in the audience. S2 is even more masterful

#2 the uncle HAS been doing things...cruelly and orchestrated. You can see the progression in the darkroom that's shown. #3 they DO know her before she knows them due to the 2nd scene of the whole series (where "she" loses her ID). I don't think people are aware the whole series begins in the future.

Dramas doesn't mean always suspending belief to the point you can't function critically. That's what I'm trying to convey. When I feel like I just want to watch something light, fluffy, funny and endearing, I watch Legend of the Blue Sea or Fight for my way and countless other dramas I have on my list. When I want to cry or feel like I need my heart to be stirred I go to other ones. I've found that this one makes me think and I get annoyed when people call it boring, or simple, or anything that signals is a subpar script. It's a beautiful ode to a lot of things including books, history, mathematical theories, art.....I can go on and on. Critique the acting if you will (I think LMH is doing amazing as an orphan king thats been molded to be a leader since he was 8) but not the script.

Then stop and ride another one LOL. Life's too short to watch anything not to your liking.

I feel like a lot of the viewers are lacking brain cells because we get little nuggets of a huge puzzle in every scene. Do you think that little things like the text messages that the detectives sent to each doesn't signal more than that? That the fact that "she's gone" is written on a cardboard in front of the alley cafe even before we found out Maximus gender is coincidence? Stop being impatient and watch the show with full on expectations and then re-watch it with a calm and analytical mindset. Then you can bi*** all you want if you don't find that fun and intellectually stimulating.

We know she's a thief/scammer (or at least associated with very bad people). I think this will add to how they can't be together in either worlds ?? but I truly hope I'm wrong.

I hate to tell you this but this drama is centered around parallel worlds. Talk about unreasonable ?

Exactly. Like why would she even think of killing him when she was pinning for him when he left her world?! Even before that she stated "I'm going to test something. Don't take it personal."

I also think she's alive and we got a glimpse of how she looks like when the Lieutenant was stuck in traffic and had a glimpse of Luna. This happened when the King was riding his horse right next to her car

I just noticed something very alarming with the series. Since I watch the shows the day it premieres and about 4 times after that (before a new one arrives) I'm positive that they do a better job of translation in the first run. If you don't speak Korean, you miss a sh**load of your watch after the original episode is aired.

EXACTLY! I was looking over the amount of comments for other dramas (some 4 or 5 years old) and the amount of comments can't even compare. Like are a lot of these "directors," "screenwriters," and "cinematographers" even watching the drama? Or are they just talking because they're haters. If you had high expectations, that's on you (by you I mean them).

You certainly make interesting points! For me the series begins in the future and then go back to the past right away....also, I love the fact that when the kingdom of corea is show there's a flash of good in the second scene )it's a dead giveaway for the parallel shift. I would just watch it for the cinematography and to see the foreshadowing done through books and lines....but I really enjoy the series overall.

The mother is the worst villain to exist since moving pictures. I understand the cultural aspects having grown up with a united nation of friends BUT her actions were inexcusable....and after a while they just became vicious and tiresome. The leads had amazing chemistry but they constantly lied to each other. The ending was also disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed the drama but it was like a train wreck that you couldn't look away from.

I can't believe this drama is ranked so high! To say it's ridiculous is an understatement. The first 5 or 6 episodes are highly entertaining but then it turns into 1.5 hours of wtf moments.

You should totally watch it. I think people want perfection from a second into the drama and that's impossible. The drama is different, funny and the leads have real chemistry. I personally can't wait for Fridays and Saturdays lately!

I'm throughly enjoying this series but the main actress haircut will give me nightmares. She's so pretty, why did they have to do her dirty? I can't figure out if it's her real hair or a wig. I get so confused especially when I look at the sides and they seem to be sticking out away from her scalp.
