I really thought this was based from a book because of how intricate the story is..... but daaaanggggg! Such good writing!

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel this way? Having both read the novel and watched the adaptation, I actually love how they deviated from the original.... in a good way. As a reader, it would’ve been boring to watch a word-for-word adaptation with nothing new to look forward to. But with the changes they made, it feels more dynamic and alive.

The only thing I wish they hadn’t toned down is how shamelessly pervy Xie Zheng is (Idk how to explain it.. He's just shamelessly downbad for Changyu in the novel..) … y’all really need to read the novel
