This must be one of the best Chinese dramas that I have ever watched. My C-Drama repertoire is not as broad as…
I think one of the main reason that makes this drama so entertaining is the chemistry between the leads. Like we could feel the tension between them even when they were not yet a couple.
My interpretation for the final episode: (continued in spoilers)
I think the ending is a sad one. Duke Su’s both subordinate Wen Ji and Lu Ji dies, so he is all alone in the battle. It is not possible to win against an army being alone. So Xiao Heng likely didn’t survive the war. The last scene where A Li and Xiao Heng meets, it’s their afterlife. The place and the spring blossom flowers were their promise to each other after they meet. The marriage special episode is what could’ve been after he returned.
Being said, although I never watch dramas with sad ending, this drama holds a special place in my heart. The chemistry between the leads scream perfection. I really resent the director for not ending the drama after war with Lord Cheng. That would’ve been comforting to see. I cried so much in the last scene. The acting, the music and the cinematography all were perfect.
I hope somewhere in the universe, Xiao Heng and A Li are living happily with their family and loved ones.
This is the first historical c drama that I have enjoyed. I am a fan of modern cdrama but this drama has climbed up to the top spot for me. I bawled my eyes out in the last episode. Although I find it as an open ending, the special episode somewhat calmed me. Highly recommended
My theory for this drama is that in the past life where Gu won was human, Do do hee is the reason why he turned into a demon. Maybe DDH made a pact to save GW by turning him into a demon while she dies. Also, I don’t think the 2nd ML will be a villain. He might be acting to be in the villain’s side to get some evidence. Also these types of dramas are not complete without someone dying. So either the 2nd ML or Star Jin dies to save DDH or GW.
Idk if this is true or not, but someone said that in the original plot, it was supposed that Jung Hwan died in a plane accident and the memories with Deok sun came up in his last moments. Mi ran fainted, Jong Bong had a heart attack, Taek cancelled his match and Deok sun returned from Japan. The writers changed the plot at the last episodes cause it was spoiled. Is it true? Cause idk how I would've reacted if it ended like that. It would have been the biggest k-trauma for me. I've been crying so hard just reading this plot.
To everyone who loves fluffly romance and great chemistry, just don't think about anything else and watch this drama. The way I'm blushing so hard with their first encounter to their sweet chemistry, I've honestly missed it so much in recent cdramas. Both are green flags. The Ml is so straightforward and not rushing everything. I'm loving it honestly
To anyone who is contemplating whether to watch this or not, you can give this drama a try. Although not new and it has the same cliche and every predictable plot for a family drama is thrown here, it's good cause the plot is done right. It's only 12 episodes, so there is no dragging of plots here. The FL is not damsel in distress that needs ML to save herself. She is strong enough to handle things on her own. The ML is heads over heels for the FL and loves her unconditionally, never doubts her and never mistreats her. The ML's family is extremely supportive of the leads, but you'll want to kill the FL's stepmother, sister and her ex-bf. Overall, the drama is nice to watch, nothing extraordinary, but simple and sweet.
Based on what he said one time that he has loved her since a long time and immediately fell for her and believed her since their first meeting, I believe that they both went back during the car accident.
How did you keep your temper while watching it? How does everyone come out as villains? (like seo deok's brother)…
You'll get the answer of why the stepmother adopted her in later episodes. Her grandfather is actually a good man whose illness was fabricated by the stepmother. It all gets cleared out in later episodes
I was so hyped for this drama cause the synopsis had everything that a 2016 kdrama had. But halfway through the drama, it lost it's spark. Eventually dropped this. Haven't picked back cause it was very predictable.
Waiting for ep 13!!!
