People are just disappointed. It was a really good show till episode 4. After that everything went downhill.
Based on my personal opinion, it is mostly because it’s a 10 episode drama and a romcom, there is no romcom in it after ep 4. Cameo of ex dragged on for too long and now it’s just 2 episode left to solve their misunderstanding and there is no much romance till now. It started good but the plot went downhill after that.
You can really see all the characters moving from their teenager phase to adult phase and it’s convincing too. The last episode made me cry buckets. Highly recommended!!

Although they seem to not like the Qiao clan at first, but after few episodes, they respect and follow her orders too. The generals will be one of the biggest supporters of the couple in coming episodes.
Ranting ahead!! ‼️ Enjoyed till ep 4. It was a sweet and funny romcom but looks like the writers decided to force down every cliche into the remaining episodes. Her ex returning, the misunderstandings and reconciliation on the last ep!! Is it really necessary for a 10 ep drama? Feels like recent kdramas don’t know how to do romcoms anymore. I don’t want to compare but if we look into cdramas and their romcoms, it is light and sweet which is exactly what a romcom needs. You don’t need a very heavy plot for romcom. That defeats the purpose. It should be something easygoing and something that makes us feel butterflies and not headache. Moreover the relationship was also not developed properly. The ML fell in love instantly whereas the FL had some doubts and then we go to the ex plot and now again to the misunderstanding plot. Also a cameo of an ex for 2 eps? That could’ve been used to solve the misunderstanding and the remaining eps about building the restaurant and relationship together. Let romcoms be romcoms. Highly disappointed!!

The FL may seems like innocent and naive at first because of her look but she is really smart and manipulative but in a good way. They slowly build their relationship.
Is it a slow burn romance drama? Is it interesting? When do the leads get together?
It is enemy to lovers genre. They get married at the very beginning and slowly develop feelings for each other. Trust me this is the most enjoyable romance historical drama because the chemistry is great as well as comedic scenes.
This episode proves that Wei Shao and Manman are the only ones capable of being the first emperor and empress. They will do anything to protect their people and each other. WS grew up in hatred. His father, brother and grandfather all were killed in front of his eyes because of betrayal by the Qiao clan. He never really got to enjoy his childhood. He took upon the duties of man of the house since he was a child. He was filled with hatred. Manman softened his heart and made him see beyond hatred. It is not easy for him to let go of his deep hatred but he will do anything to be together with her even it means that he has to form a bond with the Qiao clan. A person once filled with vengeance is now finding solace in his wife. They both healed each other. To find a love like that is rare and this is what makes this drama even more special.❤️

Wei Shao gave Qiao Ci his brother’s spear. Ehuang’s brother was the one who broke Qiao Ci’s spear and hence to make the fight fair, Qiao Ci was given a new spear. And Wei Shao willingly giving his brother’s spear was like a statement that he is starting to trust Qiao clan.
