Those are some moments that really make cql so so special. I have made so many people watch this show and the one thing ALL of them noticed and commented on was the love in wwx and lwj's eyes for each other. This show really did a phenomenal job in giving us the best love story ever, among other things haha.

Yep! It's so telling that it was lwj's voice that made wwx want to get up and survive. I definitely think he was totally aware of his feelings for lwj during their yiling date but he also knew that there is no future for the two of them together, atleast not in that lifetime :(

Hahaha oh wow she's going to have her life swallowed by the pit that is the untamed. Once you go in, there's no coming out. I remember showing the boat bts to one of my friends as soon as they finished the show and they were like "uh, are they dating in real life as well?" xDDD

The amount of queer subtext in cql is just wow. The makers definitely knew what they were doing. They queer-coded things well enough that it managed to escape the censors but not the viewers haha. It's beautiful, really.

MXTX really writes wonderful stories. I am having trouble imagining how they are going to pull off TGCF live adaptation because...well...there's a lot of stuff that would give them trouble with the censors >.<

I think the guy who played xxc would be perfect for the role of XL. He has that angelic aura around him lmao

I rewatched episode one a couple days ago and I was again FLOORED by the sheer romance//pining//longing that is packed in that first episode only. Wei Wuxian thinking of lwj the moment he laid eyes on gusu clan juniors? Wei Wuxian sitting down to take a moment because lsz's robes reminded him of the first time he saw lwj? Wei Wuxian playing their song and uttering lwj's name like a lover's sigh? PEAK ROMANCE! No one, absolutely NO ONE can convince me that Wei Wuxian was not in love with Lwj in his first life. And the fact that this is a show-only thing. Wow. CQL is a gift.

I think it would help you to remember that it's wei wuxian who is the protagonist and not Jiang Cheng.
Do you remember the last words of Jiang Dad and Madam Yu to Wei Wuxian? Wei wuxian has been GROOMED to be the protector of jiangs. He loves JC, yes, but that love does not come without any strings attached. So, as much as that sacrifice of core was because of his love for JC, it was also because he considered that his duty and a payback for all that Jiangs have done for him.

Sigh, I will just say this: Jiang Cheng put his clan over his love for Wei Wuxian and his debt to the Wens. Wei Wuxian put the Wens above his duty to the Jiang clan because he knew JC would be okay by himself but the Wens would not be. They are two wildly different characters with wildly different motivations. Now I will ask you, what is black and what is white? Who is right and who is wrong?
If you can find a legitimate answer to that then congrats! you might be the first one because I genuinely believe there is no correct answer to those questions.

All I want to say is that there is strength in kindness and a woman should be whoever she wants to be. A straightforward, can't-kick-me-down, opiniated woman is NOT superior to a mellow, gentle and caring woman who relishes in taking care of others. All forms of a woman should be celebrated and the day we stop putting women against each other is the day we win. People who consider Jiang Yanli as "weak" are not only revealing their narrow-minded perspective on womanhood but at the same time insulting those great women who take pride in their kindness in a world that doesn't offer much of it.
As for The Untamed, Jiang Yanli is one of THE MOST important characters in the show and without her, there would have been no story to tell. God, it's tiring to see people demean her as a "soup maker".
