whelp, i finished it and just realised i didn't really like any couples except for the straight one and i was binging it to see yihwa expose plern pleng and not to see the main couple get together. also, that's what you deserve p'bright! i won't be carrying on with br or season 2 i guess
i thought a lot about why i was bothered by the writing choice to have glenn try to convince judah to have sex with him when he's clearly not into it and 1) it's such a cheap way to villanise a character and i expected better than that, and 2) glenn is the only one in the show who is implied to have casual hook-ups and is generally sex-positive and that implies an assumption that being sex-positive equals being predatory which is not cool with me
I get were Judah is coming from and even though he is right he is also asking a lot from Rocky. The poor guy is…
agreed that rocky is not ready for what judah wants from him and needs time to figure himself out but also on the other hand, judah has no obligation to stay by him and wait it out if that's making him miserable? honestly, i'm not even sure where i'm going with this -- i just feel like they're at different stages at the moment and i'm curious how this'll get resolved
Rocky basically just forced Judah to stay with him by ripping the quarantine pass. What an asshole.
didn't like that moment too -- felt too controling? and lol it's dumb. now they both can't go out and if judah stays they have half the resources than if he left so what did he attempt to do by that, really?
Judah's comment was not Biphobic. Check the producers twitter, they go over what Judah meant. https://twitter.com/RODinitiative/status/1317147412171911169
gay men can still have girlfriends before they figure themselves out? or as a beard? and judah didn't say that rocky can't be bi. he said he was throwing that word off-hand as a cop-out without understanding what it means
I don't think he was being biphobic but at the same time hes not Rocky. Rocky could be bi and Judah is really…
i think judah made that assumption because of the way rocky said that? it was off-hand and it sounded like rocky was just throwing it around without understanding it. the way he said it sounded like an avoidance tactic and not like affirming his sexuality
i don't get why some people accuse judah of being biphobic in this ep? from what i understood, he just says that bisexuality isn't some stepping stone to gayness or a stand in for when you're afraid to admit that you're gay. and i appreciated that.
idk, i personally like the limited amount of time -- makes you prioritise but i guess that's a me thing (i have no patience for slow pacing...) is 8.1 really low? i must say i usually stick to books so i don't have much to compare it with. and i'm picky so i don't even know that many formulaic dramas :D if you want a drama with complex queer characters rather than otps try Gay OK Bangkok (if you haven't yet) :)
i won't be carrying on with br or season 2 i guess
my eyes 8 episodes later: *niagara waterfalls*
