I can totally understand some fans being upset but sadly there are also many so called "fans" using this…
The majority of people are actually offering constructive criticism and asking for clarification on the vision behind the ending and TT’s story in general. Unfortunately, as with any situation, there are always toxic individuals who take advantage and make things worse. As fans of MA, we cannot control those behaviors.

Speaking for myself as an MA fan, everyone I’ve seen on my feed has been polite, just disappointed and frustrated, but none of us are taking it out on the artists or the series. Please don’t generalize the fandom based on a few bad apples. We are sad about their behavior too. We still see Shine as top quality series that everyone should watch and enjoy.
On Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Sep 25, 2025
I feel like a lot of people outside the fandom are misunderstanding the internal issues happening within the MileApo (MA) fandom and the company.

First of all, MA fans have been raving about Shine from the start. We’ve always called it a masterpiece and hyped it more than anyone else, from the day it was announced until now. Even when all we had was just the name, we relentlessly promoted it.

Here’s the situation as best as I can explain. Back in January 2024, the Ministry of Commerce and BOC invited MA fans to come show support for Mile and Apo for a new secret project. Fans from all over Thailand showed up to demonstrate the impact MA had. On that day, a new series was announced, originally meant to be a romcom spinoff of Mansuang. But soon after, the script was delayed, then scrapped and rewritten. Filming was even paused. Through it all, MileApo fans waited patiently, trusting BOC’s promises that this would be their “biggest MileApo series”

No details were given for over a year. No other actors or characters were announced until the press conference in June 2025. Up until then, every teaser, the first posters, the summary, even the first video edit all centered on Mile and Apo as Trin and Tanwa. The entire campaign was branded as “MileApo’s biggest series”. Naturally, MA fans poured in money, time, and energy to promote the series we knew almost nothing about. In fact, no one outside knew anything about Shine before it aired except that it was a MileApo project. We supported it wholeheartedly because we believed in them.

Then the series began airing. The only early promotional material released was the journal notes that had already been shown in theaters. But fans believed Shine had so much more potential for promotion: the characters, their individual stories, the artistry of the production. Fans complained about the lack of promotion not just for Mile and Apo, but for the entire cast. We weren't asking for them to spent money on promotion, we just wanted them to hype the series on their social media, because we genuinely felt that the series was that good, and it deserved to be shared more widely. Fan's can only do so much, we need the company to work with us too.

As episodes aired, there were more disappointment in terms of development for TT. Our couple barely appeared. In most episodes, fans were literally checking the runtime just to see if Trin and Tanwa would even have a minute together. We never asked for the show to focus only on MA, we understand storytelling requires multiple characters and couples. All we wanted was that characters were balanced properly. Other characters and couples had detailed storylines, while Trin and Tanwa’s relationship was left vague and often open to interpretation in many instances.

Fans kept telling ourselves, “It’s fine, it’s a slow build, the ending will pay off”. But then episode 7 created a major conflict between Trin and Tanwa that was never resolved. In episode 8, they reunite only in the last four minutes, without clarity or closure. Meanwhile, the writers gave extensive development and resolution to all the other storylines. On top of that, Trin’s characterization shifted drastically, from gentle and empathetic in earlier episodes to cold and emotionally distant, not once shown missing or even thinking about Tanwa. Then suddenly, when they meet again, their love just restarts, and then we jump forward 50 years - the end. Who is supposed to be satisfied with such a half-cooked conclusion?

And let’s be clear, even the writers and directors admitted they had planned more episodes, to develop the stories but did not have enough budget. They admittedly focused more heavily on KN’s storyline, leaving many TrinTanwa scenes cut or left to interpretation.
For example:
Why did Tanwa fall for Trin? Left to interpretation.
Why did Tanwa's dad not tell Tanwa about his mom's depression? Left to interpretation.
Tanwa’s depression? Left to interpretation.
Trin’s desire for freedom and relief from responsibility? Left to interpretation.
Trin’s reactions to Victor? Left to interpretation, and almost destructive to his character.
Did Trin think about Tanwa while he was in Paris? Left to interpretation.
Did TT ever communicate about their breakup? Left to interpretation.

If their whole story is left to interpretation, what is even the point of having them in the series?

Also, for the Victor and Trin scene, Apo himself clarified this. He stated firmly that Trin never loved Victor romantically. Victor was simply a young student, a kid Trin admired for his passion and dedication to his country. Nothing more. Apo made it clear that his interpretation of Trin is final, and Trin’s love is for Tanwa. He only sees Victor as a kid and it is immoral to see it as anything else. He is very firm about his stance on this.

Anyways, this is the root of the frustration. It’s not that fans didn’t appreciate Shine, we’ve loved it from day one and still call it a masterpiece. But when the couple the series was marketed around ended up underdeveloped, inconsistent, and sidelined, despite promises and fans’ unwavering support, of course we feel disappointed.

I hope you understand this frustration is not directed at the series itself or the actors. This frustration is due to BOC having misled the fans. Had they just announced all the actors and MA at the same time and said, MA will be in this series, our expectations would have been different. But they specifically promoted it as an MA series, only to later admit that Trin and Tanwa were sidelined in favor of other storylines. Fans have every right to feel frustrated about that. We are paying consumers. We are the ones buying subscriptions, attending shows, buying merch (oh even the merch is Tanwa Trin themed), and supporting the company and the artists for many years.
So please don’t dismiss this frustration as “toxic fans wanting more MA scenes.” That’s not what this is about. What we wanted was a balanced story and fully developed characters. That’s all.

You know what I don’t get…like why did Tanwa’s dad suddenly show up to warn him about going to the student protest? It feels so random?

He says "don't get involved with those hardliner students"

If he is there to warn him then that makes it feel like there was a precedent, like Tanwa used to attend protests in his earlier student days. it implies that Tanwa used to be involved, but the series never really showed us that. Tanwa's response is also interesting because he says

"I am just earning a living. I don't even have time to get involved with them."

Which also makes me think that he used be involved but not so much right now?

Like if there is no history, then this scene was just added to create the TanwaTrin conflict, because otherwise Trin’s anger would have been directed at Krailert (since he was also trying to send Trin away from the protest with an urgent delivery order).

So is this meant to hint at hidden backstory for Tanwa and his involvement in politics, or just a way to hurt us? 😭
On Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Sep 16, 2025
Saying Tanwa is a useless character to the story makes no sense. Shine is showing how there are all kinds of people during that era (and even now).
It realistically represents the world. Some people fight loudly like Victor and Naran, some work within the system to create change like Trin, some are trapped within the system like Krailert, and some believe war isn’t the answer and that life should be lived fully, like Tanwa.

Even today, this is the case, not everyone is out there fighting for their country, some of us live our lives day to day (yes we might be more privileged compare to others) but we also have the choice to live the life how we want. Choosing not to fight doesn't mean they are not contributing to a change. They might just not do it in obvious or loud ways. Both those on the front lines and those who support in subtle ways play important roles in the world.

For example with Tanwa:
- Tanwa provides comfort and safe space for Trin. When Trin needs that emotional support, Tanwa is the rock he wants to lean on.
- His worldview indirectly shape decisions for Trin - he has deep discussions with Trin that gives Trin a new perspective
- Most people in real life aren’t on the front lines, Tanwa represents the quiet, everyday people who live fully while still contributing in small, meaningful ways (whether by protecting loved ones, creating art and music that challenges perspectives and promotes love and freedom, or creating safe spaces that are open to everyone).
- Tanwa also represents that many people are also going through Traumas and might not be in the state to fight, or have the strength to physically fight. Throughout the series, we never seen Tanwa be violent, no matter who instigates fights, he never fights back.
- He is representing another perspective in the show. That there are people like this.

All the characters in Shine are relevant and contribute in their own ways. No one is perfect, everyone is human, with their strengths and flaws. One action of a person, does not define the person as a whole. That’s what the series is showing us.

Also, I think people should read up on the hippie movement. It had a huge influence world wide. Hippies weren’t just about partying or avoiding responsibility, they challenged societal norms, promoted peace, personal freedom, and alternative ways of living. Tanwa represents that side of history.

- The scene with Veera absolutely destroyed me. He is so loyal to a fault and he loves with all his heart and…
- NOW TO THE PUNCHING SCENE. This one hurts me so much. I understand how both are feeling and that makes it hurt even more. They are both broken and reliving their trauma at the same time.

Trin is in a lot of pain in this scene. He is holding on to so much and he feels like Tanwa stopped him from saving Victor. He’s not in his right mind, and he lashes out at Tanwa, reliving the same guilt of not being able to save someone again. He’s drowning in his own pain😭

Trin doesn’t know that Tanwa warned Victor. All he knows is that Tanwa took away his choice to help with the student protest by keeping him away from it, which goes against what Tanwa himself said about everyone having a choice. He feels if he was there earlier he could've stopped them (but even Trin knows deep down that might've not been the case. Victor made his choice and Victor will follow his heart). So Trin punching Tanwa (yes, out of character) but also not unexpected because people do unexpected things when they are grieving. He was holding all of that grief in and lashed out at the person at Tanwa who he feels that kept him away. He is blaming himself and the world. It isn’t fair to Tanwa, but Trin is consumed by grief, processing his own trauma, and reliving his past. He’ll probably regret it later.

Tanwa on the other hand really doesn’t fight back at all in any given situation😭

When his dad hit him he took it (provoked him verbally), when Victor tried (he did avoid his punches but did not throw his punches own back), and now when Trin does (he takes it silently because he knows Trin is hurting and seeing Trin in pain hurts him more than the actual punch. He also feels guilty). Tanwa isn’t wrong either. He just wanted to protect the person he loves, and he’s genuinely terrified of losing them. That is a part of his trauma. Losing the one he loves is his biggest fear and that is why he even took so long to answer Trin's 'what are we'. He loves him and is terrified of losing him. He thought he could keep Trin safe inside his protective bubble, but the reality doesn’t work that way. He also did not know Victor would die, he did what he can to warn him but even then there is not much he could've done. Telling Trin earlier doesnt mean it wouldve ended up well either. And he was scared of losing Trin. For Tanwa, the heartbreak is not from being hit and more from seeing Trin cry and feeling guilty about it.

- The scene that made me cry like a baby is when Naran goes to Victor's house. I WAS SOBBING AT THE MOM'S HEARTBREAK. The way she knew that her son did what he truly believed in and nothing would changed. She says "He had already chosen. He chose to do what he believed in until the very end"

Imagine being a mother and knowing your child is walking straight into a death sentence and feeling so completely helpless to do anything but also knowing he is trying to save the country and the people. I DONT KW IF I CAN EVER DO THAT. In real life, so many parents/family go through this pain. Watching their loved ones risk their lives and knowing they might not survive, powerless to stop it. When she started ironing the bloody shirt, I about lost it. I WILL BE SENDING BOC MY THERAPY BILL.

The ending with Trin’s anguished cries, Tanwa’s silent sobs, Krailert’s helplessness, Devi’s quiet grief...no one is happy and YET THAT PRACHA IS STILL FKIN ALIVE! OMG SOMEONE KILL HIM ALREADY!

This might be long cause I have so much to say about this Episode (easily the most painful episode ever. I cried…
- The scene with Veera absolutely destroyed me. He is so loyal to a fault and he loves with all his heart and deserved so much better. Till the end, he chose to protect the ones he cherishes. DID I MEANTION I HATE PRACHA? CAUS I DO AND HE NEEDS TO DIE!

- In that scene where they are looking at the painting, Trin talks about Victor and says "Sometimes, I think that kid might understand life better than me. He is so determined to get what he wants. He never doubts the path he choose. Trin knows deep down that it was Victor’s choice, and that he would have followed this path regardless of whether Trin was there or not. And whatever Trin said might not have made a difference. People make their own choices and choose their own path. "Follow their hearts". I understand why he feels responsible. He didn’t want Victor to end up like Claire. He thought maybe this time he could save someone. That awareness is there, but I just hope he doesn’t start blaming himself again (although I am sure he will).

- On the other hand, you can clearly see/feel Tanwa’s distress in this scene, the guilt, the turmoil, all of it visible on his face. He just wants to keep his loved one safe. He just wants to keep Trin close and protect him from the scary world outside, but at the same time he’s hiding something so heavy and big, and he knows if Trin knows the truth and decides to go, he can’t stop him. But if he keeps quiet, he might lose Trin anyway. It’s such a devastating moment, he’s forced to confront his past trauma while watching the person he loves walk straight into danger, powerless to stop it. The way he screams at Trin to go home while being held back by the bodyguards. The brokenness of his voice and the raw fear at the thought of losing Trin.

- The Victor speech scene got me holding my breathe, so scared for everyone there. And then when Trin walked in all desperate to save him and the student. Then everything goes to chaos. In the beginning of the series, many people predicted Victor's death, and but then they added the possibility of him going to America, and I really was hopeful for his future. The shock and devastation at his death hit so hard. So many people are affected by his death. He was a symbol of hope, not just in the series but also to the watcher. The series is portraying a reality that is happening in many countries in the world right now. And to see him getting killed for standing up for the people is devastating. I HATE THE MILITARY, HATE THE GOVERNMENT AND FUCKING HATE PRACHA AGAIN!

- I feel so bad for Krailert. He is caught between a rock and a hard place. he does seems to lead to a good outcome. He is doing his best to protect the people he loves but it comes at the cost of others’ lives. He is in such an emotional turmoil and all alone with no one to help him. He is helpless, angry and scared. His relationship with his nephew, his wife, his lover are all strained, and now he lost a close friend too.

This might be long cause I have so much to say about this Episode (easily the most painful episode ever. I cried so much)

- Starting with the scene where Victor and gang goes to confront Tanwa at the Echoes of Euphoria - As funny as this scene is, we also shows see the pure and non-violent nature of Tanwa. No matter the situation, he stays calm and kind. Regardless of who initiates the violence, he doesn’t resort to it. At first he seem like he didn't understand Victor's anger but once he realizes it had to do wit Trin, he simply shares a drink with him and tries to end it peacefully without hurting Victor or his feelings. He is set in his way of 'violence is not the answer to anything'.

- At the beginning when they talk about going to America. I truly thought Victor would end up like Dr. Trin. Get his higher education and come back to fight for the people. It makes me so sad that his future was taken from him like that. The government is supposed to protect its people, not kill them… but we all know the reality.

- The TrinTanwa honeymoon phase was too short (BOC WHERE IS MY ROMCOM). These scenes were so beautiful and magical and I really wish it was a bit longer so we had something to savor before being hit with such a depressing episode. It was honestly the cutest thing seeing how disgustingly in love they both are. 🥹

- I didn't expect Naran to tell the truth to Dao. I am so glad he did, she deserved the honesty and he needed that as well. AND YES DAO, he absolutely did deserve that slap. I feel for the women in this series so much.

- Before I continue I just want to say 'I HATE PRACHA SO MUCH AND I NEED HIM TO DIE!!'

- Tanwa and his dad clearly have a complicated relationship. They both care as they’re all the family they have left, but the resentment is always there. Tanwa still blames his father for his mother’s death, while his father has always prioritized reputation and career over his son. So he ended up neglecting a child who desperately needed care after losing a parent and on top of that resorted to physical abuse as “discipline", clearly the damage is too deep. Now he is trying to rebuild a relationship but it feels too late, so the dad tries to protect him in his own way. This scene shows that he is worried people will hurt Tanwa to get to him. But him showing up is also the reason Tanwa even knows about the protest. Which leads to him frantically searching for Trin.

- Although Tanwa was searching for Trin at school, when he saw Victor and the students preparing for the protest, he still tries to warn Victor. Obviously, Victor didn’t take him seriously because Victor already has some prejudice against Tanwa, he sees him as a good for nothing person. It’s basically a one-sided beef. So if Victor is laughing off Tanwa’s warning, that was his choice. Tanwa is worried, he knows something bad will happen since his dad showed up. He knows this will be a dangerous situation, and even though he had his own worries and was desperate to find Trin, he still couldn’t ignore the risk others were walking into. It shows just how much Tanwa cares.

- Tanwa ends up going to Trin's house. When he walks into the room. Krailert, who is already aware of the situation is trying to send Trin away on an urgent task, so that Trin wont get caught up in the protest. Tanwa walks, and says he needs help painting the backdrop but as he says that, he locks eyes with Krailert. In that instant, Krailert knows Tanwa also wants to take Trin away, to protect him. Krailert and Tanwa may seem selfish to people, but at the end of the day, they are both trying to protect the person they love with everything they have. They may not go about it in the proper way but if we were in their place, wouldn’t we do the same? Protect the one we love.

The main issue is authority, not age.
As a 30-year-old, yes Victor is young to me. Early 20s is still young you are barely an adult, still discovering the world, still trying to figure things out. So I don’t understand why you are getting so offended when I mention that. I myself would not even look at at anyone under 25 as a love interest (again personal opinion)

Anyways, from my perspective as a viewer, Trin was introduced to them as their professor. All the students in that group are shown that way, they always refer to him as “Professor,” and he clearly feels responsible for them. For example, during the protest in episode 6, when he’s frozen in PTSD, the students keep calling out “Prof, Prof…” multiple times to snap him out of it. And when he does, you see him protecting them, taking care of them, rushing them to safety, making sure Victor is safe. He carries that responsibility the way a teacher would.

And Tanwa is not necessarily immature either as you implied. Tanwa is wearing a mask which they did try to make it clear throughout the series. (I can see that you have some preconceptions about Tanwa). Tanwa’s character shows that people are complicated. Some hide their pain behind a smile, behind a joker mask. Not everyone expresses emotions the same way. With his trauma, it is understandable that he is trying to protect himself. But with Trin, he’s trying to break that habit. But he hasn’t been shown love properly, so he is still learning, just like how Trin is learning to be patient and understand Tanwa's ways too.

He does show the care and love for Trin in his own ways. In fact from episode 1, we can see he's been the one that makes Trin laugh all the time. No matter what Trin is feeling, Tanwa is able to bring a smile out of him.
I am going to leave this video as reference:
https://x.com/__coldties/status/1964594314887188532
Tanwa is patient with Trin, he doesn't force anything out of him, he lets Trin take the lead in their relationship. He allows Trin to be himself without judgement. And the end of ep 6, clearly portrays that he wants to be there for Trin even in sorrows. He listens to Trin without interrupting, without judging. Sometimes people don’t want someone to fix things for them, they just want someone to listen and hold them. Tanwa shows that love doesn’t have to be loud for it to be meaningful.

Tanwa' student status is different not only because of his situation (and how he really is barely in school), but also because Trin doesn't see him as one of his student or someone he is he responsible.

Anyways, agree to disagree. It seems like we won’t be on the same page about this, and that’s okay. I respect your opinion, and I hope you can respect mine.

The main issue is authority, not age.
There’s such a huge difference between Tanwa being a “student” and Victor being one.

Tanwa and Trin met way before school, in totally different circumstances. Tanwa's dad literally said he is basically a drop out, and the only reason he came back was because of Trin. It is 100% his choice, and he is not putting Trin in any awkward position (he would just leave if needed, bro doesn't even attend classes). He’s an adult (pretty sure he is older than Trin), who got his own life, his own career, his own power. He is not one of “Trin’s students”. If anything, he is an equal to Trin. Someone Trin can lean on, be vulnerable with, and actually trust. Trin doesn't have to be strong for Tanwa, he can be himself.

Victor, on the other hand, is a whole different story. He’s barely an adult, still in that awkward in-between stage where Trin is clearly in a position of authority over him. Their whole relationship literally starts as teacher-student, which is a huge power imbalance. Trin sees him as a kid/student/brother he needs to protect and guide. That’s not romance, that’s responsibility.

Also we don’t see Trin teaching Tanwa. He is not Tanwa's professor. Tanwa is basically just there for Trin. So trying to put Tanwa and Victor in the same “student” category wouldn't work.

“According to Thai fans” how is this even a credible source by all means. There are also a lot of Thai fans…
I think you might be misreading what I was saying. Nowhere in my post did I claim I was talking about a “source ” or trying to say it’s the only valid take. I literally said I came across some interesting Thai fan perspectives on the Trin-Victor dynamic and thought it was worth sharing because it was different perspective.

Also, my point wasn’t just about age, it’s about the power imbalance. They’re not just two random people meeting each other. In this case one is a student and the other is his professor, and that creates an authority issue from the start. Plus age does play role in a way because you can see the difference in their maturity.

I also didn’t bring up their chemistry nor criticize Apo’s tweet, so I’m not sure why that was directed at me. I’m just sharing my own interpretation, the same way you’re sharing yours. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion.
On Shine (Orchestric Ver.) Sep 8, 2025
I was reading some tweets and reviews from the Thai fans side about the series, and I was given an deeper understanding of Thai fans perspective on the way they see the Trin and Victor dynamic.

Victor is a student ~ around 18-20 years old (according to Thai fans)
Trin is his professor ~ Close to 30 years old

In this situation, Trin is in a position of authority. Their dynamic already starts with a power imbalance. That means any romantic or physical interaction would be an abuse of power, even if Victor is legally an adult. He cares for Victor, but only as a younger brother. He never blurs that line and makes it clear where the boundary lies. Fans view him as a role model adult and teacher, someone who does the right thing when faced with a situation that could easily go wrong.

The Thai fans are really impressed with the way the script writer's tackled this scenario. Here are some highlighted tweets to show that: (translated using translation tool)

“I want to give an award to the scriptwriter for including the issue of student–teacher relationships in the story. Trin is an example of what a responsible adult should be and what every teacher must do when a student develops feelings for them. It’s not wrong, it can happen because kids are kids. But the action the adult must take is to clearly reject it. When the student grows up, they’ll understand. He’ll be so grateful to Trin for respecting him and not taking advantage of him back then. P’Trin is both an amazing adult and teacher. I really love this character."

"Trin is such a great example of what it means to be a good adult, and I want everyone to look at him as a model. When a kid has a crush on you, what an adult should do is not play along but reject it clearly. And Trin is as clear as it gets - when he saw Vic taking off his clothes, he turned away and avoided looking. Even when he put a robe on him, he tried his best not to look."

"At first, some people criticized Shine for writing a storyline where a student has a crush on their teacher, saying it was inappropriate. But as the series went on, it showed us that the characters handled it in a proper and respectful way. The series is making us see that issues like this in society can be dealt with correctly. That’s so well done - I just want to give them a round of applause. I feel so proud."

I really really love the hug scene between Tanwa and Trin. It has so many layers and so very much needed for us to understand not only the depth of their relationship but also the growth.

In episode 5 we end the episode with Trin saying "In love we share both joy and sorrow. But when I am sad, you are never there" and in episode 6 we see Tanwa being there for Trin when it matters the most. Trin had been trying so hard to be strong for everyone the whole day, and then seeing the one person he longed for waiting there, he broke. He fell apart in Tanwa's arms and it was so beautiful and devastating. In that instant, Trin got the answer to what he asked him at the end of episode 5.

This moment also shows Tanwa's growth. Even though Tanwa knew Trin might not want to see him, and maybe even lost him forever, he still took a chance because he was scared of what might've happened to Trin in the protest. He took a risk despite knowing it might hurt him.

And then the conversation in Trin's room, when Trin tells him of his past and trauma, Tanwa questions Trin about why he puts himself through the pain again and Trin replies with "I don't want to lose anyone again" also emphasizes Tanwa's inner conflict. Tanwa doesn’t fully understand that mindset, but he listens. He tries to understand. That openness shows his growth, and his willingness to let love reshape the way he thinks.

This scene is equally important for Trin’s growth. Up till this point, we see him falling in love and being swept along by the current that is Tanwa, but Trin was also holding back. Although he asked Tanwa to share his sorrows, Trin himself hadn't truly done the same. In this moment when he sees Tanwa waiting for him, he finally lets go. He allows himself to be vulnerable, to cry, to be weak in front of Tanwa. More than that, he fully lets Tanwa in. For someone who has carried so much alone, this is huge.

The trust and love they've built from the beginning to now is actually so wonderful to see. They communicate. They grow together. They change for each other and for the world.

We also finally have Trin sharing his past with Tanwa. I absolutely love how open and honest their communication…
To each their own. Everyone else, including their co-stars, the directors, and the public watching can feel their chemistry. So many locals have been raving about it because they bring so much depth and emotions in their scenes. The chemistry is undeniable. If you can’t feel it, that’s your personal preference, and I’m not here to change your mind.

It doesn't make sense for me how these two fell in love. Forget that they have nothing in common, that alone could…
If you cannot understand the beautiful dynamic between Tanwa and Trin, then I don’t think anything I say will change that. But here’s the best way I can describe it: they’re actually kind of alike in some ways. They both love music, more obvious with Tanwa, but we see hints of it with Trin too. Him getting excited in the record store, he loves listening to Tanwa play guitar, and even in how he can compose music and play the trumpet himself. Music is one of the things that connects them.

Another connection is writing. They both often put their thoughts on paper. They love talking about philosophy, and even though their views are different, they always listen to each other and try to understand where the other is coming from. They see the world broadly and deeply, share little interests like French, and they express affection in similar ways (touch, sweet words, and gestures that make them feel safe and comfortable together)

Trin doesn’t see Tanwa as “different” or strange because he’s experienced all kinds of people before. He is charmed and comfortable with Tanwa exactly as he is. And Tanwa doesn’t see Trin as just this strong, foreign professor he sees his humanity, and everything that makes him Trin. Their compatibility isn't just their shared hobbies, it’s also about how naturally they understand and accept each other, how their personalities although different works so well together. Like Yin and Yang. They balance each other out.

If you pay attention to their interactions, it’s clear that no one else in the story fits better. Their love doesn’t come from grand gestures or fiery hidden away passion. It grows organically from shared understanding, mutual respect, and a deep connection that makes everything else feel right. They see each other as their comfort zone. They even break their habits (Tanwa going back to school, no longer sleeping around. Trin stepping into the rain, opening up more) and step out of the safety of their own views for each other, showing how much they truly care and trust one another.

There’s a wonderful contrast in how their relationships are portrayed.

With Victor, Trin has to be strong and save him all the time. It is a one-sided crush of a student for his professor.

With Tanwa, Trin can let go, be weak, and fall into Tanwa's arms, knowing he'll always be caught. Their love is equal, mature and free of judgment.

We also finally have Trin sharing his past with Tanwa. I absolutely love how open and honest their communication…

I want to add my two cent regarding Victor in this episode (I do want to give props to Peter for doing such a wonderful job at playing this complex character). One thing I really appreciate about this show is how it portrays every character with both strengths and weaknesses. No one is perfect, everyone is human. So this is my take on Victor and what I see as his imperfection.

So I think the way Trin rejected Victor was very strong and clear. He set his boundaries without any room for doubt. His no was loud and clear. He said you are like a little brother.

What bothers me is how Victor keeps pushing after that. Even after the rejection, he is persistent. And by pushing I don’t just mean pursuing, I mean he was a bit too forceful for my liking, especially in the scene where they were hiding from the military. Trin’s was already in vulnerable state. He was scared for the student, for himself, overwhelmed by the situation and weighed down by his past trauma and still trying to be strong for the students. That was not a moment for Victor to try to force a kiss, even though Trin stops him the first time, and very clearly indicates no with his action, he tries it again.
That moment really crossed a line for me. Victor doesn’t seem able to take 'no' for an answer, he seems a bit obsessive at this point, and even at the end he still tries to go see Trin at his house despite everything. He also doesn't seem to respect Trin's decision and feelings in this situation. Shows how he is still very much a immature kid, caught up on his own feelings and disregarding others. This, I think, is Victor’s vice.

In contrast, Tanwa never forces anything on Trin. From the beginning he’s always waited for Trin to set the pace and to initiate. He gives him space and respects his boundaries, and that’s why Trin feels the most comfortable with him. This is what makes Tanwa's love feel more mature.

Also Tanwa, He is committing to a forever with Trin. HE FINALLY DID IT!

"I want to stay here with you, Trin...always with you...everyday with you"

FREAKING MARRIAGE VOW RIGHT THERE!

And about MileApo NC scene (after they actually communicated, and emotionally bonded. I love that about this scene)

The tenderness of this scene, it leaves me speechless. I don't even think I have enough words to express just how soft and intimate this scene is. Every look, every touch feels so meaningful.

They feel everything with their whole being. Their scenes always leaves me breathless.
