This drama has THE BEST OST (fight me). I loved this drama so much, the way the ML was like "huh why tf am I starting…
I think the ost of this drama is basically iconic for most Koreans (and international audience like me who have such fond memories of the time this was airing)... It's made history for sure
>"it's okay, that's love" That's one of the best kdramas ever made & unfortunately Slump's not even remotely on…
I don't know what I'm even doing in this drama's page but someone actually compared this to IOTL? That was quite a polite answer you wrote there because I would just say that it's a travesty to think of remotely comparing them
Only once before in my life have I hated the ML and the FL together as much as do in this drama. ML just needs to look at her, leave alone touch her, and I go "ewwww". When he was attacked and she came to his mind I was skipping the scenes so hard rolling my eyes. There are few reasons that could justify ML's obsession over her but I think it's just the miscast of the FL that makes it so much worse. Most importantly, having a attractive, endearing, strong SFL in contrast who can act with excellent micro-expressions is just the most unhelpful isn't it?
I had my reasons to watch this drama but if there is no bromance and no romance (no I'm not going to allow them to shove another chemistry-less useless kiss down my throat) then I refuse to wait for crumbs of SFL and the ML. Might come back out of curiosity when it ends so that I can skip everything eww-worthy and pack 5/6 episodes under couple of hours
Someone needs to tell me what on earth I was thinking when, back when it was airing, I dropped Under the Queen's Umberella because, thinking back, Moon Sang Min's face and acting alone should have been enough to keep my depending-on-the-mood shallow ass glued to the drama lol Now that I'll be in abstinence from his antics till next Monday, I find it baffling 😂
eyecandy alert, great acting, full of funny scenes, great side characters, enough scenes with depth too so why not. NB: it doesn't take itself too seriously so you don't have to either :)
not love triangle as you would think of it. 2FL likes him but it's not reciprocated although she is a powerful caharacter and written in a likeable manner (depending on how you see it)
Why did moon sang min had to have good chemistry with both the female leads WHY WHY WHY?! also jongseo is really…
I fault it with the way he looks as them :( In the scene with the SFL just before her confession, he was staring at her with so much endearment saying things any normal woman would swoon over! Honestly the SFL is not the least bit weird to fall for him given how long they know each other and how many memories they have together
And the way he looks at the FL whenever he's touched (cause who else takes his side apart from the FL anyways) which is ALWAYS? Our poor hearts...
Yeah it's me being sensitive. I get really put off when I see Someone praying in Church ( I'm a Catholic) and…
I see where you're coming from. I think it's because they are historically and traditionally from a deep routed polyteistic background, so their interpretation of monotheistic idea of God sometimes (as if "MONO" wasn't the clue) is a new one along with the "existing ones". Korea is a not a very religious country anyways so they don't know how to thread lightly in these cases. That's why in kdramas you hear the dialogue "to Buddha, Allah and all the Gods out there, please..." which is basically unconceivable as a dialogue to people from monotheism
I surprisingly found the starting episodes quite depressing and I was ready to give it up but there were some nice moments too: - The portrayal of how she forgets things: sad, realistic and endearing - Him shooting the boar and finally protecting her as he should have all these past 3 years when he couldn't see the need to because he saw her strong like diamond - The epilogue when his mom says "then marry her. At least it's better than dying" : fair reasoning lol - The crazy aunty: I just love that actress lol -(yes ok his ayegyo during the drunk scene of episode 1 but it was extremely cute so I don't think anything else will be able to top it later lol)
FL seems to be strolling around like a ticking bomb now lol. JH already knows about his feelings for her and is fighting in every possible way against them and has learned to deal with them. Most importantly: he has much stronger motivations to give up on her than she has on him if she discovers what her heart wants. They are both proactive, but she is the more proactive one between the two, as he can be the more stubborn type who sometimes does nothing when things can't be changed. For example, how he lets others talk behind his back, how he lets others treat him, etc. She is not like that and reaches out more to him because she doesn't know why she does what she does. For example, closing the door of his room to talk to him in privacy, being bothered about how he sees her, calling him out to meet up etc. Given her portrayal so far, I feel like she won't let him get over her at all really, as I don't think she can bear it for more than a couple more episodes of him being cold to her lol. For me personally, she's a strolling around ticking bomb lol.
PS: I actually had the same experience as the ML where I prayed so hard to forget someone in every possible way so I can actually feel how real his pain is atm :( It was honestly both HILARIOUS and sad.
PS +1: Did you notice how observant the brother-in-law is? Leaving aside that he's the MVP today, he even observed that the umbrella must have a story behind it.

PS +2: DH's apology was heartfelt :'(
PS +3: the epilogue! :'(
