Yeah redemption but not the lover. In 18 Again he didn't get the girl in the end. We most probably won't have any new characters' backgrounds at this point as the foundation seems to have been established. I would rather see him with Soojin, she seems to be good at handling SJ and she also thinks he's handsome. In any case, he doesn't have to have a lover in my opinion. He is a soon to be idol in the end of the day and has a lot of interaction with family and friends
