I get where you are coming from. But many of us just wanted him to have a family that is not DM's family. In many occations in this drama we see that blood is thicker than water and he is not actually their family becuase real family comes first. He is never anyone's priority. All we wanted is him having his own family and friends that have nothing to do with DM and DS but the writer forcefully attatched him to them using his character like a tool to provide things for the Dodal couple, and many things, I point out. The list is too long. This is the cause of discontent: not that he didn't get the girl most didn't even want him to get

I think he wasn't supposed to be that loveable. It was a mistake in casting. The bts and the interviews made us understand that KSH did too many ad-libs so it made his character much more charming than the production team ever expected. So I guess the industry will be very reluctant to have him as a second lead for the fear of ruining the drama in future given the level of his acting skills

Look, I'm from IT industry dealing with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning like in this drama. If you think this is realistic, you are wrong. It's ok to like the drama but I really do not reccomend to take this as a model of reality because it really is very much far from it, in too many aspects that have been discussed extensively in many comments before me and in the reviews. I believe anything misleading the masses with wrong moral messages is very bad so perhaps this is why I think this is a bit more dangerous than other "bad"dramas. I watched all of Hyungsik's work as well and I watched Hwarang till it was bearable because I am wasn't fond of the show.
