Same here. I definitely would like to have Dr Cha free from her MIL and her husband. If she and DrRoy will not end up, I am with that as long as she will be able to divorce his husband.
The cast is legit lit! I am a big fan of Mansai Nomura since Onmyoji and Okada Junichi is great in Fable! You also have Abe Hiroshi here! Waaaahhh so looking forward to this!

I agree on this. The writers also kind of interchange the events from the manga to the live adaptation.. they've tweaked a lot. Also, there are some weird shots and edits which is again falls on the cringe part that you have mentioned haha :D
But overall, the cheesy-ness of the leads and their efforts is still praiseworthy. They've done the series with limited resources and budget (which is apparent on the series).
Still kudos to them. Hopefully, more Japanese series with this kind of relationship (non toxic and kind of mafia/yakuza type) will appear with more budget as well.

They tried to make a lot of plot twists regarding the story but that makes many things confusing.
However, I applaud the effects as I am a fan of the original Onmyoji story (Japan 2001) and of course, this remake is better in the aesthetics and there's a nod with the relationship/bromance of Hiromasa/Boya and Seimei/Qingming.
