OMGGG exactly 😭😭 I finished it and somehow became even more obsessed by the end. It’s such a simple story on the surface, but the emotions hit SO deeply. Meng Fuyuan’s yearning and quiet devotion had me losing my mind every few chapters 😭
And imagining Li Xian and Jingyi in those scenes makes everything 10x worse for my sanity because they fit the characters TOO well. We’re really about to suffer through the slow burn, the tension, the longing looks, the silent love… i cant waitttt
I just finished the novel and OH. MY. GOD. 😭 Li Xian and Zhang Jingyi are actually PERFECT casting choices. While reading, I could see them so clearly as the characters in my head — it’s honestly insane how well they fit the vibe, the emotions, EVERYTHING.
I need this drama injected into my bloodstream immediately. I NEED the yearning. I need the silent pining, the restrained emotions, the painful slow burn, the tension-filled encounters, the aching looks, the “I want you but I can’t have you” energy 😭
The angst??? The longing??? The quiet desperation of loving someone so deeply??? I’m going to lose my mind. GIVE IT TO ME RIGHT NOW.
