I haven’t watched today’s episodes yet, and I might save them to watch tomorrow along with episodes 23 and 24. I know myself — if episode 22 ends on a tense moment, I won’t be able to live or wait to find out what happens next 🤦🏻♀️
I’m loving this phase of them dating, and Liwu keeps surprising me every day… one moment he’s all shy, and the next he’s clearly showing that he knows exactly what he wants. I can’t wait to see them like this in the present timeline too
You are not alone. Any recommendations of shows with that plot?
I totally agree with you! When I said I love seeing a male lead who loves loudly and intensely, I didn’t mean I don’t enjoy it when the female lead feels just as deeply. In fact, I love it when both are equally devoted to each other
I just have a soft spot for watching a man who loves with his whole soul — the kind of love that’s fierce, emotional, and impossible to hide. It’s beautiful to see, and it makes the mutual love between the leads even more powerful

Here are some dramas I’ve watched that fit this category:
Modern Dramas: • Love Me Like a Child / My Fated Boy — fav 10/10 (best age gap/noona/jie jie romance) • The First Frost — another fave, a solid 100/10 (he loves her so deeply it physically hurts) • Go Ahead — top-tier, elite, unmatched, 1000/10 • Amidst a Snowstorm of Love — fav 10/10, pure serotonin
Costume Dramas: • When Destiny Brings the Demon — one of the best of 2025, a strong 1000/10 (I’m still not over it, nor will I ever be) • Love and Redemption — solid 10/10, emotional damage included • Love Between Fairy and Devil — major fav 100/10 (Dylan Wang did what needed to be done)
Not top favorites, but still wort mentioning: • You Are My Hero • When the Phone Rings • Embrace in the Dark Night — (he literally begs)
PS: if you’re reading this… I’m also open to recommendations 🫣 This genre is never enough
If you’re into age-gap romances with an utterly obsessed male lead—like, eyes-only-for-her, devoted-to-the-point-of-delusion obsessed—plus a sweet, melt-your-heart happy ending… oh girl, you’re gonna LOVE this one
Judge me if you want, but I’m weak for stories where the MAN falls harder, loves deeper, and breaks first. I love when he’s terrified of losing her, when his feelings consume him to the point where pride doesn’t even matter anymore — he’ll beg if he has to. And honestly? I’m obsessed with that kind of devotion that borders on obsession, when he’ll burn the world down for her and she’s the only woman he can see 🫢👀
Does anyone have any drama recommendations where the leads get married for reasons other than love, but there’s trust, partnership, and love being built slowly (slow burn)? I mean a mature relationship where both of them actually behave like adults — including when it comes to intimacy. I hate when an adult couple gets married and then sleeps in separate beds acting all awkward.
I’m tired of plots about rebirth, revenge, scumbag exes, lost daughters, childhood sweethearts reunited, fake daughter vs. real daughter, “who saved my life?”, hidden identities, jade pendants… I just want a well-built slow burn and a solid couple
I’ll leave below some examples of dramas I’ve watched and loved that have all (or most) of what I mentioned:
3. And the recent drama by Wang Kaimu, which hasn’t been added here on MDL yet: Half-Mature Husband (半熟老公)
In short, I like the simple things that work — just give me an arranged marriage or marriage-of-convenience plot with a slow burn, where the leads act like adults, respect each other, and trust one anothe 😭🙏🏻😮💨

My gorgeous He Yu and the beautiful Esther are waiting for me 🤭
