Its either he is not the direct line of succession of the throne. usually a king with no heir the succession were his siblings. that how line of succession works. So if jimyeong become king, the king is literally a puppet, instead the real power were Prince Jesan since he the one who coup the throne

predictable ending, bcs this drama is just giving almost same ending every time travel drama.
