Also, ML was such a shameless manipulator LOLLLLL when he said to General Hang that the best way to reject a girl who bought you so much gifts without your knowledge, is not to return the same amount of money to her, BUT to BUY HER A GIFT WITH SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY, so that she won't get offended at the same time.

I've to say, the cinematography of this drama is reallllllly on another level. Initially I was turned off by the bad subs but then got the link to the good subs and then took me smooth as a butter ride to get into their world.
I've to say, I usually don't care about main couples relationship much because they usually get together in the end and are usually over happy and over excited for nothing and ruin other casts' screen time — BUT HERE, ml and fl really shared such a balanced romantic relationship!
Really, such a relief to watch them because I know there won't always be forcing of affection from ML's side again and again! Heroine was also loyal. She wasn't ignorant and ran away with SML here and there just to add angst to the story.
Their relationship really was so touching to watch. Qinchi really can be called the stone of hot and cold at the same time. Audience would think he knows how to control her but real hopeless romantics would know it is HIM who's being controlled Lol.
Even when he wanted to be away from her, HE JUST COULDN'T. Also, such a REFRESHING scene to see heroine not adding to angst and wallowing in misery in her room. She takes action and confronts him and is not afraid to either speak her mind or apologize to him!
I must be dreaming to see such a healthy relationship grow and fester LOL.
That one scene where heroine was so much concerned her sister looks good with makeup and everyone likes her but she looks like a baboon with makeup and how the ML says,"Why should I think about your sister in makeup? I like monkey butts(her overly applied rouge face) anyway." 🤣🤣🤣 That caught me so unawares I laughed for a while man!
But the scene where he cries. Mannnnn, I hardly empathise with any ML honestly. But that scene really tore at my heart. He was trying to control himself so much and his angst and misery was so palpable!
And how Hang Rue Xue was sooooo concerned he'd kill himself in agony over the breakup Lol it was funny as well sad. Anyone can see Qinchi got two wives in this drama— one academy love wife, other general-roomie wife 😂 he even cleans up after him!
And bandages him. And the way Qinchi always ends up giving him money?!! 😂
LOL, When Qinchi suggests General Hu the best way to get out of the situation of woman buying things for you (being a gigolo) is to BE A GIGOLO and he even says he'd make a plaque for him that'll say "Gigolo General Hang Rue Xue." And then those moves LOLLLLLLLLL. That was so funny.
It's a first ML I'm seeing who wants the equal displays of love and affection from the heroine as he gave her! LOL. He refused to kiss her again because he did so many things to get her kiss but SHE didn't even do that much efforts to kiss him? LOLLLLLLL
Main couple is also watchable this time! Their scenes for once don't seem to take whole screen time of other couple as well! And most of all, the hero's personality is really good. Mostly, if the hero falls first, they become really really too cringe to watch for me! But here, even though he falls first, he's not at the service of her and makes a fool of himself. Not at all.
It's refreshing to see he's the one who can bend and kill the world for her and yet his feelings are with actions and not with words and so such a fresh air to watch him!
It's been such a LONG time and lists of famous dramas picking and dropping in months that I came along this one— such a breath of fresh air! Really, no bullsh#t palace politics. Also, no forcing of your affection on each other— both for main and second couples.
I've to say, my favourite couple is definitely Rue Xue and Qing He.
Qing He is such a cute fool in love though. Being the richest woman in the city, she'd buy ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING for her General LOl.
