Started this drama on low expectations cause I'm not very used to chinese language and it's kind of off putting to hear it for one day straight but I'm genuinely astonished by the talent of the storytelling and plot pointers. This was a really well done mystery thriller and I've seen very few like that because most thrillers have no proper plot on emotional grounds but this one sure persisted for so long with me.
As expected, I'm quite touched by it. It was also a sad drama, and very dark and raw and realistic. I've to say I'm deeply impacted and disturbed by many moments there. Cast did phenomenal, there were few ending points which made me sad but the quote about rice balls and uneducated people leading life would forever sit with me.
Ji Soo is an ungrateful egoist and I say that to be polite. The only good thing about her is that she was so awful…
If ji soo is an ungrateful egoistic, then you should be thousand times glad you aren't living in the shadow of your big sister and everyone, including EVERYONE, from her crush to her parents whom she loved so much, ALL bypassed her and her feelings in the time of an opportunity to give that big sister a better life who clearly was egoistic enough to throw it in the faces of theirs as well parents of the one who lost their daughter. So if ji soo is being criticised for thrashing like an aggressive person for the family which is LITERALLY HERS, and they sent that big sister who already had everything!!! Not to mention the guy jisoo loved so much, she didn't even had the decency to inform her sister that she knew him already and she knew he likes herrrrrr but she let it grow and jisoo gets to know only when every loved one from her side has become her enemy and she realises how innocent she was to think her adopted parents can ever love her the ewwy her real ones do and the biggest hurt she got ofc was that how her adopted mother sends for their own real daughter as an adopted one so that she can live a better life ? Wowww if that's not a betrayal of life then I don't know what jsssss man .
If this makes her egoistic then so be it. She already lost her parents, her real family, her brother and even the love of her life, all to the big sister since they all worship her one way or the other. What's left in her life is to always be overlooked for her kindness and always expected her to be on the background making things easy for her sister. Such cruel twists of fate but it is what it is
Ok, this drama heavily triggered the past rusty editor in me. Had to make an humor compilation of this! Rarely seen such precious physical humor before lol. π€£π€£π€£
I want to leave my comment here for Cai Siyu and Simon's relationship. They really moved my heart and beyond. At first, it looked like Simon was such a heartless pric* and honestly he really was! He used poor SFL just to cover his 10 years obsessive feelings for FL and starts to date her so that FL won't doubt him.
Despite knowing his plans, Siyu still decides to go for it. The scene where she knows whom he loves so much and how she can never ever replace FL's place in his heart but still wants to give him a cat so that "there's someone to accompany him since he's always stressed and tired" knowing he'd never let her in his life so even a cat is her feelings for him and her care for his health.
Even though he says so many brutal words to her of how "he'd never like her" "is she stupid to still want him knowing he never liked her and always used her?" "Even if world goes beyond, he'd never consider her" and so many more heartbreaking scenes.
Cai Siyu earned my admiration with the scene where she says fck to all and still goes to express her feelings. She even keeps her feeling aside just to let him know "how he's always loved no matter wherever he is. She'd always love him, and how he should remember her love for him" as "no one will love you more than I do." But he still leaves. π₯Ή
Her strength and nonchalance despite being proved to be such a commoner girl in midst of rich people and still wanting to love nevertheless was so brave and inspiring! I love love loved her character!
PS: that surprise kiss scene where she's admiring him in his sleep and Lunyiyao (Simon) grabs her neck to claim her lips π was sooooo hot and cuteee. Especially when he pretends he was sleeping and doesn't remember anything about the kiss. He knew to catch his delicious humming pray in his area too well. π It was quite hilarious to see him count how many times she appeared in his dreams and daydreaming and how he approaches her just because he's had enough for the 100th time!π
Ofc his waist sprain scene was LOL. And the way he keeps protecting her even when they keep arguing anyway. And him wanting her to USE HIM for her novels as much as possible Lol. My boy had it harddd for her and I was enjoying every moment of it, shameless as I am! π
I was about to make Part III but then work schedules popped up. I especially recorded clips of all the funny scenes to make more parts. Let's see if in future if I get such time, I'd definitely love to make MORE!

One of the most hilarious scenes would also be where she writes him a love letter, "I missy you *wrong spelling of name" Our love is iternal. Now that we've become a coupon..." π€£π€£ And how proudly the ML still reads it loudly to SML to burn him LOL
Also, that scene where he confesses all his bad deeds to heroine's parents and the memorial plaques fall out of shock to hear how many he killed and scammed. π€£π€£π€£
The plot would've been thousand times more interesting if only they made the heroine marry her sister's lover instead. Changing the male character makes it more or less the same plot of watching two strangers who don't trust each other fall in love.
Making it angsty would make more sense when heroine would be in dilemma all the time if she was committing crime of falling in love with the prince her sister loved. While the male lead would think he's married the love of his life.
Even being the twin sisters would make the drama more deliciously angsty. Those moments where he'd get to know her identity and the game of push and pull then.
Idk why dramas don't go for different plots, why it always have to be the same repetitive ones? I feel like they don't dare to go for bold plots. π
One of the few unpopular opinion as well. Second couple are definitely developed much much slower and more realistic than any other second or even main couple I've seen so far.
Maybe they had so many gaps in their scenes so I'm feeling like that, but I am amazed to see that even with less screen time, I didn't get a feeling their story was forced or just placed there for the purpose of being the second couple.
Theirs is definitely a romance of few words and even fewer declarations, but anyone with two eyes can see their tender expressions, longing, thoughtfulness and their budding love for each other.
I would love to see confession scene as well, so going to watch rest of the episodes! I'm sure their confession would also be so unconventional!

Also him from the first episode, "As soon as I get the Jade Flame Stone, I'll kill her."
Him few episodes later when the guard asks him if they're going to still kill the General(heroine)?
MLβ "I should have left you in suburbs a long time ago. Your stupidity makes me want to murder you." π Poor Guard.
