I saw some ForceBook edits on tiktok and decided to check this series. To my surprise, it turned out to be one of the best series GMMTV has produced this year, if not the best. Every episode keeps getting better and I'm heavily invested in the plot. And this may be a weird thing to say, but I ship Peach and Home more than I ever did any of the characters played by Tay and New in previous BLs and I think it has to do with the writing and directing. I really hope this show maintains its quality until the end and more people start watching it!
I agree on everything you said from the beginning. I just want to add that BDSM relationships aren't about violence/rape/torture…
I'm glad I never read the novel, as I also think this series will never turn Sarawat into an abusive rapist. I'm relatively new to BL series and although I enjoy them for offering us different dynamics and relationships that I'm not used to see in Western shows, I also find all this violence/dominance portrayed as romantic very problematic and I wish it would stop.
There are many young people watching BL shows and in some of them they're basically saying that it's ok to rape your partner as long as you love them. Uhm... no, kids. Real love is about respect and acceptance of each other's boundaries. In that aspect I think the Why R U series is doing a good job at the moment (despite all the other flaws it may have in comparison). I never expected for Fighter to be so respectful of Tutor, but they really went out of their way to show each progression in their relationship is made with consent from both parties.
