I'm a huge fan of Xiao Zhan and did enjoy Douluo Continent and also finished the entire Soul Land anime and about to get into Soul Land II (just waiting for more episodes to be available to make it more enjoyable marathoning). I was about to react negatively with this new casting but realized that the younger Tang San looks a lot like Zhou Yi Ran so I'm trying to be optimistic. I love the material so it will be hard to bomb it, I just hope that it doesn't turn out like Evernight. While Dylan Wang is a good actor, I feel like Chen Fei Yu owned the role and should not have been replaced.
To the writers: I hope you know how stupid and obnoxious you are making your characters to be, right? Especially the grandmother and the leech of a secretary.
You are making the grandmother unnecessarily evil that I don't know how yo plan on turning it around before the show ends.

You are banking so much on how viewers will get hooked by hating the characters so much but at this point, I don't think you can redeem them to keep us watching til the very end.

I'm starting to hate it. First of all, it has a stellar cast. Everyone is good. The source material is also good. But as it unfolds, there is a clear imbalance between the villains and heroes. The villains are overly brutal and bloody and the heroes given their "enhancements" are totally useless against them because they are "not allowed" to do anything. 4 episodes in and I'm starting to get fed up by how there's enough killings but with zero retribution. I really hope the writers would do something about this. The heroes are supposed to be kick-ass.
Oh and there's one scene I truly hate- there's this scene where the heroes were shown in their hq planning their next action and they were using Legos to demonstrate their next movements. It's just ridiculous because their organization is super high-tech- hell they implant bio-tech in their staff and yet all they could afford were Legos while they have huge monitors and fancy computers in the room. Sigh.
