I seriously want to facepalm at some of the comments here lol how are we still having conversations about this…
I've been sorta thinking the same thing, though it doesn't bother me a lot. I think the 2Moons stuff would make more sense on the season 1 page than this one since being on the season 2 page implies the people here have watched season 1. (Probably. I mean, this isn't really the kind of show where someone can jump into the middle because the second season has a different couple; Gen Y 2 is a direct sequel.) The pairing stuff makes a little more sense since the voting was mostly done on the Thai side of things rather than internationally; however, with the trailer being out now (and the press conference yesterday in which 4 pairings were confirmed--Thanu and Wayu, Mark and Kit, Pok and Tong, and Jack and Koh), it seems it should be pretty obvious who the main couples are and aren't. It's extremely improbable that these will change. But I guess also in defense of some of the comments, I doubt many people are keeping complete tabs on this show since it's a quieter page. I know that, for most shows, I probably wouldn't be. ^^
It'll officially be on iQiyi, which has a subscription.
I think so! The only thing is like a 20-minute delay from the Channel 3 airing (so 23:20 on iQiyi versus 23:00 on Channel 3, according to the trailer). I remember the subs and episodes were uploaded simultaneously during season 1, so I doubt there will be much of a wait.
Now that the trailer has English subs... I'll actually give my thoughts... There are a few season 1 spoilers ahead, so that's why I've tagged it as such. I guess it's also a rant about some of the endings and unresolved plot points from then, too, since I hadn't really been active on MDL when it was airing last year.
Overall, it seems decent--basic BL stuff. You've got your fluffy couple, sorta enemies-to-lovers (x2!), love triangles (or whatever polygon you can superimpose onto that chaos), and what might be a friends-to-lovers arc. The angst is expected from everyone given how season 1 ended. (Or simply the nature of some characters, ie. Wayu since he probably spent half of his airtime crying.)
I was kind of foreseeing the MarkKit issues with the dating probation stuff from Kit near the end of the first season. However, it is interesting that the suffering is a lot on Kit's end from what I can see rather than Mark's since he was the one who cried during the first season while Kit always kept up a tough front. I'm not quite sure what's going to happen with their story apart from some cute couple moments and crying--assuming they even get much airtime--but they were by far my favorites in the first season thanks to their chemistry and dynamic.
PokTong are still fairly intriguing, and the way they were left off in season 1 did leave a lot of questions about the exact nature of their relationship moving forward after all the crappy, irritating things they did to each other. It seems like it's moving in a more positive direction, though Tong's bit of dialogue during the kiss scene is worrying--not to mention the two times he cries. (On top of that, there's finally the kiss scene that was avoided in season 1 with all the love/hate stuff... Fun. I'm surprised that made it in the trailer and wasn't some hugely anticipated moment. There must be a lot of surprises in store for their plotline.)
Did Wayu maybe grow a backbone and tell Pha to f off--nicely? Looks like it. That's a decent change of pace. I've never particularly disliked his character as it was understandable for him to be so upset (plus, having a sensitive guy in the mix was nice), but it noticeably caused his arc to drag a lot. In addition, Thanu seems a lot more outgoing and flirty, which was definitely not what I was expecting! They're probably the pairing I care the least about, but it's not impossible to sway my opinion on them.
Phai... He's definitely got a following on MDL and for good reason. While he only spoke once in the trailer, he's always had a fairly admirable character to me with how kind he is. He's just very lovable, and it sucks that he's probably going to continue to get screwed over by Thanu despite whatever the heck the premonitions thing was. (It was interesting for sure, but I really can't predict how or when it'll be used this season, if at all.) My only worry would be him becoming a bit too passive in regards to the events around him, but I hold out hope on that. I'm guessing he'll be paired with Sandee. I don't honestly object to that; Sandee's fairly interesting to me with his somewhat well-intentioned but questionably executed scheming.
The other pairings from what I can tell/guess are: Jack and Koh, Kalae and Alice, and Jew and Yuki. There's not much to say about them really since they barely appeared. I would say there's also a distinct lack of Padbok. I hope there's some clarification on his issue with Thanu given the airtime their arguments received, even if it's mentioned in passing by someone else. I wasn't a huge fan of the supposed pairing he would have had with Sab, regardless.
If the first season is telling, it's definitely not the kind of show that will be worth watching for some kind of extensive analysis or deep message. (I write that like I didn't just sorta do that myself, but this is only so long because there are a lot of pairings.) The series is silly fun for the most part, and the value of that certainly varies by the viewer. I'm enamored with what I've seen so far in season 1, so I hope this season is also good. :)
Oh, they just revealed the trailer on the stream! No eng subs yet, but now I really can't wait~! I do hope the screentime is distributed well as I didn't see much of a lot of the freshies (barring PokTong). https://youtu.be/mX6t-G5oa0s
anyways why is nobody talking about pa & ink, their chemistry is insane ugghhhh i love them so much, hope they…
Literally was just thinking about them!! They'd be so cute together with their little moments so far, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up too much on them being canon. :/ (I'd be extremely happy to be proven wrong, though!)
I'm so excited about this show! :D I've been reading the novel translation to pass the time before this season starts since I'm so antsy, but I've only gotten through First Love haha. The trailer from earlier seems really heavy on ThanuWayu without many MarkKit and PokTong scenes, so I'm curious to see how it'll be in the show. (And then the rest of the possible couples were nowhere to be found, but that's understandable for a 30 second teaser. Waiting for a possible full one in the next few days!)
Star Hunter put out an MV on YouTube for a song in the series a couple of days ago!! (It was the ending song for season 1 as well, which Tung sings. :D) https://youtu.be/IFbALLb_phs
I see that.. explains the shows earlier in the week for sure, but at least the other commenters have cleared up that this is still airing but not on youtube (which still feels odd but at least it's not a week behind!!!)
