For anyone that needs to understand SPOILER: the love interest has experienced SA caused by her mother. The story…
Tbh I'm glad to see a comment like this because I found it immediately apparent that Kotoha has some serious trauma. I haven't read the novel, so I didn't correctly guess it was due to her mother, but I was definitely assuming there was someone in her life that forced her to trade sexual favors for basic necessities/housing. Which in hindsight, the perpetrator being her mother fits the bill exactly. And I found the statement about the police to be a pretty good jab at the way law enforcement and justice systems tend to deal with these kinds of things--which is not very well at all.
I will say that I do understand the apprehension people are having with the scene as even after watching the teasers, it does come out of nowhere and can be pretty shocking. (It definitely surprised and made me uncomfortable upon watching.) However, I very much think that the scene was there to advance the plot and Kotoha's characterization, and it wasn't just there to force the characters together and get brushed off right after, which often pops up as a trope. I think the only thing I'd personally be worried about is the conflation of sexual trauma, predatoriness, and attraction to women down the line, but I really don't think it's fair to make a judgment so early about the series' portrayal of these topics.
Also have to say that I think that it's nice that the series has a happy ending and that a lot of care seems to have been put into making it. I hope people will give it a chance as the premiere was of good quality despite Kotoha's messed up actions.
It will be up on GagaOOLala in about 10 minutes with subs! The first episode should be free, though you will be…
The manga is totally worth a read and has the same vibes basically!! (+It has an official English translation, is pretty easy to find in general, and is relatively short at 24 chapters.) The show seems to have some small changes from it so far as well.
Does anyone know where I can watch the first episode? Particularly the English subs? :3

Full Trailer on Youtube: https://youtu.be/UthwlH6xO-0 Ahh, I'm so excited for this one to come out! At the very least, it looks like it'll be some fun.
I'm getting the feeling someone/some intern at the company rolls a die and decides where and how to air this because, once again, the show is back on US iQIYI after disappearing for a while (not to mention the paywalled YouTube uploads). The third episode isn't airing until 22:45 today as per the iQIYI Thailand account. https://twitter.com/iQIYI_Thailand/status/1478364608737935361?s=20
Is this series connected to 2 Moons? I’m confused! Kit and Wayu/Wayo are here.
Not really but also, kind of. It's adapted from a fanfiction centered around MingKit/MarkKit and Wayo/Wayu with a new cast of characters entirely (well, minus Pha now appearing in Gen Y). No knowledge of 2 Moons is needed to understand Gen Y (I jumped in before having watched either version of 2 Moons), so there's no relation beyond those few characters since the plotlines are very much different.
Did they really decide on Thanu/Wayu because of a vote?!? That can't be true, can it? Wow - talk about creative…
Actually, yes, it is true. I think you had to buy the Viva Vitamins in Thailand to vote, but if you look on the pictures section of the season 1 page, there are pictures of the options: Wayu/Thanu, Wayu/Pha, and Wayu alone.
Now that I have a while to type and/or think... Decent first episode. It dragged in a lot of places, was mostly contextualized bits of the trailer, and spent like half the time on recap from the previous season, but it definitely fell in line with what I would expect from this show--in a mostly good way.
There wasn't a lot of MarkKit, which was to be expected; however, their bits were very enjoyable, particularly the elevator scene (how in-character for Mark to flirt right then... lol). I'm interested in seeing what happens with them and Pha since he is less bad than I would have thought--perhaps even somewhat likeable for choosing to back off. I wasn't expecting two things: his sickness and the fact he didn't actually send the message on the Facebook live. (Go figure that Mark is still peddling Wayu's harem battle while there are Jack and Koh shippers in his comments.) I'm hoping Pha and Wayu don't strain Mark and Kit's relationship, but from the look of the episode 2 teaser, there's definitely going to be some tension.
As for Thanu and Wayu... I'm glad Wayu has begun to question him some, but it's a little irritating that Thanu didn't actually explain what was going on between him and Phai and instead whipped out a bunch of romantic dialogue to get around that. It's pretty disheartening that Phai is probably going to get blamed for everything Sandee did, which I sense is going to be a source of conflict between those two when/if Phai realizes what Sandee has been doing--if he hasn't at least gotten a hint already. (I still can't bring myself to hate Sandee for whatever reason; I find him very interesting despite, or maybe because of, how conniving he is.) I also like how Wayu and Thanu went to the exact spot Phai and Thanu had gone during the first season.
PokTong... I didn't really sense any kind of plotline from them quite yet, but they're extremely cute without all the toxic stuff from last season. I guess they're in that phase of their relationship currently. I'm getting the feeling that the conversation they had while out to eat was much like the MarkKit one from last season in that there was probably some double-meaning to most of it or some context I wasn't quite getting because Tong looked extremely done with Pok the whole time. (LOL.) Anyway, they at least have good chemistry. Also, I felt bad for Pok when he saw Danew, and honestly, what Danew said didn't seem very tactful. It might have just been the way it was translated, though.
I don't really know what to say from an acting and production standpoint so far. I suppose that stuff wasn't atrociously bad, but it's not really noteworthy either besides maybe the spiralling camera while Wayu was running to the rooftop.
As a side note that has nothing to do with the plot, I do enjoy the new hairstyles (barring Pok's and Kalae's). It looks like most of them grew their hair out.
I will say that I enjoyed it a lot despite some of my comments above. It's now going to be a long wait until next week... :D
Watching the trailer and half the cast is crying makes me think we're in for an angsty bumpy messy ride and I'm…
I mean, same thought here. T_T (Well, I'm not sure how well my heart can take Kit crying, but apart from that...) This is definitely the kind of show where I'm here for the sheer mess, too.
It's 7 hours after the UTC (Universal Time Coordinated)/GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, or the time at the Prime Meridian), so it's basically 7 hours after Greenwich, England's time, which is used as the basis of a common global time. (As another example, I'm in the UTC -6 time zone, which means Gen Y airs at 10:00 for me.) :)
To clarify since there's some confusion, this airs tomorrow--Tuesday, December 21st--at 23:00 UTC +7 on Channel 3. The uncut/subbed version airs at 23:20 UTC +7 on iQiyi. I submitted an edit to (hopefully) fix the timer to align with the Channel 3 release, but I don't know if it'll be approved before the show actually airs.^^
Why is everyone so hostile about Wayu and Thanu? I don't understand. And I don't mean "I don't understand how…
I'm not really hostile about them, but I honestly just thought Thanu was kind of boring as a character to the extent I couldn't really see how he had two potential pairings in Wayu and Phai. I can't think of many likeable traits of his besides how he cared for Wayu simply because he (Thanu) wasn't developed much (but that was something he was asked to do by Pha, anyway), and even then, he was still kind of screwing both Phai and Wayu over by not having a clear choice/want--alongside all the supernatural stuff that was never clarified. I'm assuming the general hostility comes from the amount of screentime the pairing took up with little payoff during the first season or people being fed up with the characters. Alternatively, the third option might just be some 2Moons spillover as you mentioned since the number of votes for Wayu/Pha certainly wasn't zero when that was running last year.
