I just finished this series - and all the way upto episode 17 I loved the drama. It was brilliantly done with…
Same. I would rate this drama 10/10 if it wasn’t ruined by the female lead’s stupidity, pointless romance, and the last episode. The ‘deleting existence’ part in the ending doesn’t make sense to me either. Despite those flaws, I agree what they’ve done with the crime aspect is so ingruing and close to perfection. I love how the murder case is tied to one string, and it also showcased the corruption of politicians in current society, and how thirst for power -and even motherly love- can push human beings to be so cruel to the point of murdering people, which made me impressed with the writer. But I’d rather choose to imagine this drama with my own made-up ending. After all the tragedies these characters have gone through, the reset button destroyed the whole point of story, which is such a waste for an OCN drama with potentials.
I gotta say Song Wei Long’s eyes are very expressive. The way he looks at Fan Xing can show he’s head over heels in love with her. Although I expected more on Yuan Song’s growth, he’s so adorable as a boyfriend! Overall, I feel like Find Yourself could have been a lot better, had they cut the parts of that annoying second male lead, and focused more on the development of two main characters. I appreciate how it showcased the real struggles of living as a 30-something single woman in a narrow-minded Asian community, and being torn between the desire to stay in the safe zone and the desire to break the norm and follow your happiness. But this drama lost its charm after 20 episodes. 41 episodes is really unnecessary. It was dragging the storyline, and my patience almost left the chat. I had to skip a lot. *sighs*
i do think this drama is well-executed. it has a lot of things i love. sports romance, ice-skating, newadult setting, and my fav trope ‘enemies to lovers’. there are some cringe-worthy scenes i don’t like. and tbh, i need more speed skating scenes. but the actor who played Li Yu Bing deserves to be praised. his acting is quite good.
I don't think you full understood the drama, the many plot holes that are there are non existent if you use your…
first off, TKEM isn’t that complicated to use analytical skills and imagination to fully understand the holes.
i’m not saying it’s bad-bad, but the show definitely doesn’t know how to make the audience beg for more. what’s the point of entertainment if you don’t get entertained?
i agree that the dynamic of Lee Gon is done well (although he sounds like a typical Gary Stu). but some characters are pointless and one-sided. even if the characters are that way, i’m fine with that if they make me feel ‘something’.
no thanks, the first watch is painful enough for me. i don’t think i would be aiming for the third time. if i want to watch the shows that aren’t spoon-feeding, i would watch something like Dark or Westworld.
TKEM isn’t non-spoon-feeding, it’s just lacking and lazy.
anyways, if you love this drama, it’s cool. it’s your opinion and i respect that. i just want people to stop saying “if you don’t like this drama that’s because you are stupid and didn’t use enough imagination.”
when people say they don’t like The King: Eternal Monarch, it’s not because they lack the intelligence to understand the plot. frankly, TKEM is a train wreck with poor writing. yes, it has so much potential to be a kick ass with interesting storyline, but fell flat after a few episodes. so many characters, especially the villains, are wasted. what’s the point of Shin Jae? what’s the point of Luna? what’s the point of Prime Minister? they rarely support the story. it’s like they exist just to lengthen the running time. even if you watch for romance, it’s still boring because there’s no chemistry between two MLs. I DON’T FEEL ANYTHING FOR THEM. the only good things about this drama are cinematography and Woo Do Hwan.
