This is exactly what I thought about the show. Entertaining but flawed. Agree that 9.0 is a ridiculously high rating. But then the ratings for most of the shows on MDL don't make much sense either.

You hit the nail on the head. LJW is one of my favourites but he has no chemistry with the FL here. And the writing is blah compared to Business Proposal. To date, his best role has been Nine: Nine Times Travel. He was gorgeous in Miss Granny as well!
