.Last Saturday, we had came to the end of My Engineer SS1 (thanks god they confirmed to have SS2) – one of my most favourite BL series. We have fun time joined the love journey of 4 couples and must say ME has set a really high bar when it come to balance the screentime and give enough development for both main cp and side cps. I love and enjoy the love journey of all CPs in the series because each of them give me a different viber and show us many kinds of love. I really want to write a long blog about my felling for all cps but because my poor english grammar, it’s will be an overwork for me. So as a BohnDuen lover, plus their is so many argument around their relationship, I will focus about my journey with them for now, for others I will try later. I know many people complaint and fell annoyed with BohnDuen but for me, I really satify and proud of their love journey. Yes, I must agree with you guys, they are most problematic couple in the series. Their love journey is not smooth and romantic at all like many people want, including me. Their love life like a roller coaster, start in cute way but go up and down, and sometimes seem to stay in one round circle of “jealous-appology-jealous again” which make event me, a BohnDuen lover, fell tired at some point too. Many people said their problem come from lack of communicate. I used to think that too. But after re-watch the whole SS in one day, I have changed my mind. I realize they not lack of communicate at all. In fact, they talk a lots and willing to open about how they really fell with other side. Everytime they argues, they sat together later and talked about their problem. It’s not good to always fighting but the way BohnDuen solved their problem by communicate is really mature and that is the thing every couple are trying to learn and should learn everyday in real life. From my point of view, yes, they have problem in communicate but not lack of it. What they actually lack is time to know more about other side. Unlike MekBoss secertly in love with each other for two years; RamKing, event they seem to be a soulmate cp the whole SS but their relationship actually has just began in last ep and TharaFrong staying in “brother-zone” now, BohnDuen ship is really like a rocket. They fell attracted and fall in love with each other, step in a relationship when barely know about other side. Like Bohn said before, event he is hitting on Duen, he actually not know much about Duen, event Ram knowing Duen better than him. If I not count wrong, Bohn confessed with Duen in 4 days after they just met and they started dating just 2 weeks after that. They have know each other for just more than a month. Like I said in one blog before, it’s really hard for two people with totally different life style and personality to understand about other side in that short of time. That lack of understanding about other is actually one of the things make them have a lots of misunderstood and unnecessary argument, not lack of communicate. Communicate, yes, can help people understand about other easier but it’s need time too. To this point, I know many people will mention RamKing as an opposite. Like they just know each other for a short time as BohnDuen and plus Ram doesn’t like to talk, they still can understand about other event without really communicate. But please remember, soulmate is really a thing hard to find in real life, not everyone luckly enough to find their soulmate. So don’t use RamKing as a standard for BohnDuen. Some comment said that if they not know about other enough, not really ready for the realationship, they shoudn’t start it too. But doesn’t love is the most unexpected thing in this word ? Doesn’t love have no rule or standard ? How can we know when is the “right time” or when we ready for love, for a relationship ? In real life, event long-married or long-relationship cps can’t really sure if they totally understand about their partner. So let’s BohnDuen take sometimes to understand, to find the “middle ground” of their different by the way they want, event if the way they know more about other is through fight then communicate. It maybe sound weird but some strongest boundaries really being builted by fighting and argument. Two of my bias Kpop groups – Super Junior and Nu’est have said that thanks to all the war and fight they had before that make them understand more about their member, they can broke the 7-years cursed of Kpop and walk together till now. One thing I like about ME that they don’t try to make the cp relationship to fit the “ideal” type – sweet and romantic. BohnDuen relationship event seem troublematic and unstable but it’s really show off a type of relationship in real life. Another BohnDuen problem I think it’s about “trust” and mostly, Bohn is the one have this problem. Bohn, event he is maybe a tough guy but from my point of view, he is really lack of confident in himself in this relationship. We saw how he afraid that Duen maybe fell ashame when dating with him. Event Duen comforted him after that but I think deep down in Bohn, he still fell scare. Scare that he is not good enough for Duen, scare that someday Duen will be took away by another person who better than him. That lack of confident in himself plus Duen is so innocent to the point that doesn’t recognize if someone has felling for him (poor Frong, being bro-zoned by the cousins) made Bohn always fell insecure in the relationship. That make him always easy got jealous and want a prove that Duen is belong to him like the status of their relationship in social network (event it’s not necessary because everyone know about them like Duen said). His insecure made him suffer and hurt Duen at the same time. Event in the end, he always fesses up to being wrong and Duen forgive him, but deep down inside Duen, the fact that his boyfriend not have trust enough in him is really hurt that innocent boy. So when Bohn lied about what happened between him and Mild (Mind ?), it became the climax and break point for all of their problem. Many people complaint why Bohn not explain that he got sexual harrashment from Mild, why he only said sorry because he lied to Duen or if Duen know Bohn not have any felling with Mild like he said, so what’s Duen mad for ? But as I understand, the problem that made Duen to break up only because Bohn didn’t trust him. Like Duen said, what’s the meaning of staying in relationship that we can’t trust each other ? I think Bohn understand what’s their problem is, and it all about the trust, not the kiss between him and Mild so that why he only said sorry about lying, not explain much about the kiss because Bohn believe Duen know how much he loves him. If only Bohn had more confident in himself and in Duen’s love for him, their relationship can avoid a lot of problem. But in other hand, it’s show a very cute and weakness side of a tough guy like Bohn and show how much he love Duen. So yes, we all can see their love is not perfect, both BohnDuen have their own problem that make they often have ups and downs but like one Cooper weibo update said, their love for each other overpowerd all the problems they’ve encountered as a couple. And that’s why I love and proud of this cp too much. At first, we’ve know Bohn as the rude and mischievous Engineering senior but after meeting Duen, he was willing to change for the better. Put aside his jealous, we all see how far he can do for his Duen. He is willing to accept to be a bottom event it’s not really comfortable for him but he love Duen so much that no matter what his indentify is, as long as he’s with Duen, he will be happier. One point I had said in one blog before that he also never pressures Duen into doing anything he doesn’t want to do, event though it’s obvious he’s like to do more, but he’s going at Duen’s pace because he genuinely cares about him. I really love the moment in ep 10 when Bohn can kiss the drunk Duen but he stopped. Or the hand kiss in last ep is really preciuos and cute for me. Every thing he willing to do for Duen show how Bohn has changed from his old-self, he loves Duen and cherrish him from bottom of his heart. His love is not holding hand or kissing Duen, but to walk the path with Duen after winning Duen’s love - a pure love without physical side. His character development is one of the most impotant lessons of the series. And Duen, he has changed a lot for Bohn too. Like Bohn, he is insecure and afraid that Bohn will bored with him someday because he is immature and good at nothing. So he is trying to step out his comfort zone for this relationship step by step, little by little. Event Duen was the one who said he want to break up first, but the scene when they hug each other in jungle, his tear, the way he hugged Bohn tightly really show off how Duen scare to lost Bohn’s love for him. I really happy that they let Duen is the one who take the lead in last kissing scene. It’s really the huge step for someone like Duen. For this innocent boy, the first kiss is really important, we can saw it through how he cherrish his sister first kiss. So then when he open himself and kiss Bohn first, it’s show how deep his love for Bohn. All Bonh patient till now has been paid off by the confess “Duen love P’Bohn”. I think with Duen’s personality, if Bohn done nothing wrong, Duen will be a loyal lover who will love only Bohn in his entire life. To the conclusion, I’m really enjoy and proud of BohnDuen love journey. Their love life full of clumsy thing and awkward, they still need to learn and change more to be the suitable partner for their other side. But doesn’t all that thing make love become more beautiful and unforgetable. We learn and discover about love day by day, step by step. I really looking forward for BohnDuen and all other cps love journey in SS2 of My Engineer.
"I'm not romantic person" "I want the last one will be special one" This two line of Duen make me like him more and more. Duen know himself that he is lack of romantic that Bohn want and we want. But all he is doing till now is show how sincerely he is for this relationship. He want to give Bohn the flower that Bohn can keep forever like their love. From today, Duen not necessary to give Bohn flower everyday but he promise to see Bohn everyday as a sign he will giving Bohn his love everyday. Yes, i agree with you. I think a person like Duen will very loyal with the partner. He is the type who hard to fall in love but when he does, he will love that person only.
I know a lot of people complainted about how minimum skinship and romantic secene between BohnDuen, they just always argue with each other so people tired of them. But for me, they are still my most favourite cp in My Engineer. Why ? When with RamKing, they are like two people are made for each other. King easilly understand Ram and give him comfort zone. And Ram fell that comfort and understanding from King so he open his heart and can depend on him in hardest time. Their storyline, yes, is sweet and attract people more. BohnDuen, in other hand, show an other side of relationship. Both them not that much understanding about other like RamKing, between them there are so much misunderstood moment. But what I like is they always talk with each other about how they fell and find a solution together. Like with topbottom issue or whenever Bohn got jealous. There relationship give me a "real" vibe.
