I loved your article!
Even, I have spent a whole lot of time looking for ramen and kimchi in Big Bazaar!

And I was always amazed by the fact, that even the poorest have the latest Samsungs and branded clothes and accessories, and to top it off, they are NEVER repeated!

I have never been able to find a single modern K-Drama, without the Chilsung soju :)

how do you like the drama so far?
YESSS I WATCHED!!

EXACTLYYY, I loved every single second of the last episode!
I hoped they would handle the story in a better way than the other versions, but this was just AMAZING.
The way they omitted the Gorya-Ren kiss was LOVEE.
I genuinely like this version of Boys over Flowers!

Heyy,
First of all, Sorry for the late reply!

As for, my thoughts about this version, I would say I am very much impressed.
it is quick-paced, crisp, and sweet. Most important it really matches the 2021-2022 era and its vibe.
I watched K and C version (2018 one), I couldn't find the J version or I didn't even read the manga.
I have watched both of them in 2020. Though the K version is not going to be relatable ( I guess because I have watched it almost 10 years later),

But, I was really disappointed with the C version. Given the fact, it aired in 2018, it was nothing but over melodramatic. Forget about giving the 2018 feels, it made me cringe for almost every scene. The only thing I liked, was the chemistry between the Second Lead Couple, even in that I found the second FL way too childish and innocent or rather I would say gullible, and after a point, I lost interest in the second lead couple as well!
Some episodes were more like fillers, they dragged the whole story and had a lot of toxic scenes.

As you mentioned, I feel F4BOF has all those moments and elements, which makes it more relatable and enjoyable, and refreshing to watch.

Up till now I am enjoying the drama, but I really hope, they wouldn't show the kiss between Gorya and Ren. I don't know, maybe it might be my opinion, but I always found that kiss to be uncomfortable.
In all the other versions, whether it was a kiss between Jan-di and Ji-hu or Shancai and Lei, the outburst of Jun-pyo and Daoming-si respectively, who witnessed them kissing was labeled as nothing but his possessiveness, toxicity and ego! I genuinely feel that he was very much hurt and was in a lot of pain and hence the outburst. I agree, he did not need to use his fists, but still he wasn't the only person who was being wrong!
I hope F4BOF handles this and many such more elements carefully and thoughfully. Given the past episodes, I feel they would definitely have a different way of portraying the characters.

And also this would be the only version, in which I have loved the ML for the get go!
His character was justified from the very first episode. He is unreasonable, severe, haughty, rude and egoistic, and yes that is completely wrong, but he did make sure to punish the people who tried to molest a girl( Gorya). My interpretation is he has some sense of right and wrong? Not a whole lot, but somewhere in the corner of his heart, he is humane.

I genuinely hope the latter episodes are as good as the former ones!

Againnnn ,I loved the article!
I have enjoyed every single of the KDrama mentioned above (except for Playful Kiss, found it a whole lot toxic! Could barely complete first 6 episodes)
I hate to agree, but it is what it is, some of the kisses and actions are problematic, may not be directly, but subtly, yess they are ;(
But the CLOY scene, of deciding her routine, I would say that, I actually liked it, the male lead did help the female lead feel a sense of warmth and caring, which she craved for through the messages and instructions. Somehow, it made her a little less lonely
Anyways, every single one has their own interpretations.😅
Amazing writing!
Keep it up!

I loved the article! It was brilliant.
And yes, I agree that the Cdramas give you butterflies and are fluffy, but at the same time some of their scenes are giving out wrong messages.
Really appropriate and on-point piece of writing!
Keep it up!
