I like everything about this show EXCEPT the fact that too much Chinese drama has conditioned me into liking toxic and problematic morally grey men with terrible communication skills and Yue Chu is so NICE (and such a giant simp) that it's impossible to find his character attractive. 😭 Like come on my guy are you sure you don't have some hidden angst? Please, I beg.

Their interactions are awkward. But I think that's good and normal. Because it WOULD be awkward to realise that you're starting to catch feels for a) a human man and b) someone you took in as a child

"It's too slow"

That the romance is slow is also good and normal. Obviously it would take Hong Hong some time to open up to this. Personally I am a fan of very gradual slow burns and I don't mind at all.

Shen Li had me in a total chokehold but idk I might have been biased cuz I was already obsessed with the leads' chemistry from PA... I'm admittedly not as into FSM - I still like it though! Even if just for how pretty everything/everyone looks. 🤩 I also like the sisterhood vibes.

Watching this after Shen Li, I love love love the casting of ZLY and Yang Mi in these mature roles where they don't have to act silly teenagers and instead get to play these already established and competent leaders (just as they are in their own careers) who can f*ck b*tches up from the get-go.

Yang Mi also looks SO STU NNING it's absolutely sickening. They all do. I have such bad eyelash envy. I need to be a Tushan sister so bad. 😭🦊✨

There are soooooooo many dramas where the FL (while not an actual child) starts out as an infantilised teenager and the ML is some kind of older mentor/teacher etc. And nobody complains. The vibe is no different here, since Yang Mi doesn't play any kind of care-giving role. If anything the ML is smart and capable here so the power dynamics are better.

Everyone complaining about the leads' relationship but if the genders were reversed I bet fewer people would bat an eyelid 🙃

Anyway she's hardly a mother figure. They literally just gave him a house and said "k you can stay there" lmao

I've just finished and I don't even know what to say. The catharsis I feel as a Princess Agents fan and now a fan of Shen Li in its own right, the total heartbreak and then pure pure joy for the ending... At the end of the last episode I literally just cried because I was so happy for them but so at a loss, like WHAT DO I DO NOW?? 😭

1000/10 for ZLY and LGX. Absolute perfection. AGAIN. They have my whole heart. 🤌🏻

I don't mean to be dramatic but when Xing Zhi calls Shen Li "A Li" my heart melts, evaporates out of my body and floats up into space

Also I'd like to add I just think everyone in the show should be sweaty more often 🥵

This is such a masterful slow burn creation because it literally feels like a culmination of 58 episodes, six years and then 30 more episodes 😭 It transcends characters and transcends this show. It would have been perfect as Shen Li in isolation because the drama is great but for me it feels like transcendent extranatural-level dramaland perfection. I'm so fulfilled. 😭💓 Thank you drama gods.
