i dont think people understand that the subversion of tropes in this drama was fulfilled even until the end. typically in kdramas, the male lead is the one who either breaks it off with seemingly no reason or because of the usual “noble idoicy” trope. here, jiho is the one breaking it off and returning in the end, therefore subverting another common trope in kdramas. i just found that interesting
