I love this drama but the last two episodes are ridiculous, a rushed mess of forced events, cringe lines and OOC…
I remember about 10 episodes got cut out because of their c drama new policy back then. All the female dresses got cute bows at the back and got censored for resembling the Japanese kimono bows.
Movies are kinda like the deal only for better stars in China. I know that but those two hours movies canβt satisfy my hunger for a wu lei acting. π Still need a hardcore drama like love like the galaxy!
Leoβs acting is pretty different from what we usually get from these days dramas. Heβs on another level acting -wise. He will never act stereotypically. ACTING is his magic. Heβs gonna breathe life differently into his different characters. Ling Buyi is full of revenge and hatred so itβs supposed to be stiff somehow with that deep rooted pain and hatred always in him..

Because some ppl here saying Leo acting is too stiff and rigid and unnatural sometimes here. He uses method acting & as his fan, I kinda feel yikes if ppl say heβs still better than same age idol actors. Please, Leo wu is not an idol actor. And the scripts he takes. Heβs on another level. International fans are new to him so may be they have no idea about him.
Classical trained actor don't force characters onto themselves. They find the inner similarities and then bring it out. Ling Buyi is part of Leo. But he decided early on that this character must be real... that's kind of tough in an unrealistic show. that stiffness and coldness done on purpose to show the audiences how awkward and difficult it must've been for him and everyone around him. There's not a day goes by that he doesnt think of his revenge. Leo talked about how he took the time to caliber how those characters should interact w each other, bc Buyi has them high rank royals and officials in a chokehold. For a young general, it ain't easy. It took him some time to get it right, and he's satisfied w the results. We don't really see these circumstances in rom coms/ romantic costume dramas/ idol shows, bc these don't normally command such acting skills. But he did it anyway. I believe him when he said he did it for himself, for his fans. Bc he's not gonna lower his standards just to please a bigger crowd. This character could be so boring and typical, his performance could be so casual and forgettable, but he didn't choose the easy way, and the audiences rewarded him We are just so lucky to have him here. Like Ling Buyi, he will not surrender.
