I'm on episode 29 and I forgot the reason why Shi Shui and Yun Bi Qiu didn't recognize Li Lian Hua as Li Xiangyi?
Bad writing? ;-) Not sure why nobody recognizes him throughout the series, the folks who knew him when he was still “alive”. She saw him without a mask toward the end of the Girls Mansion and she didn’t say anything.
as I’m nearing the end of the series, there are some issues with this series:
1. Makeup: Most of the actors look very cake-like with their makeup, maybe due to poor lighting? Male actors like the male lead, you can see all the heavy makeup in his buffy face.
2. The male lead character is so famous but throughout the series, even without a mask, nobody from his time recognizes him. sure he’s supposed to be dead, but there ain’t such a thing as a twin…
3. The character Qiao Wan, why is she always crying??? her character is so annoying that i didn’t like watching her. I think they screwed this up for the actress.
4. the male lead martial arts: where the heck did he learn all these martial arts from? he was the best at 13yo and started his own sect at 17… yeah, only in a fantasy wuxia drama would this happens.
5. Jiao Li’s character seems to be stuck with one acting scene throughout the movie. every time the character shows up, you kind of know how/what she’s going to act and it’s like watching the same scene over and over… much like Qiao Wan, who’s always crying…
I love mystery detective series. this one is really good… when they’re solving murder mysteries. wish this was all murder mystery, solving crimes series. still love it but I can do without all the other storyline in the series. I was fast forwarding most of the time trying to see my next murder mystery.
exact reason why I dropped it... I was more interested in the younger versions... the older guy had too much scenes…
yeah the younger version was cute and I thought the series was going to focus on them really falling in love. the time travel really drives the story off.
I love this series until it got to the time travel part. I just wish they’re focused on the two young version and build up. I kind of lost interest in the series once the time travel theme kicked in.
I’m a horror movie person, add this with gay boys, it’s a winner all around. I love during the scene when White and Tee were making out and about to have sex, Tee asked White not to be naughty when the killer grabbed Tee’s crotch. You’re about to have sex and ask your bf not to be naughty… what?! :-)
I don’t think thet can because the Chinese government would have to approve. otherwise, we wouldn’t be seeing…
there was zero gay stuff… no kissing. also, the censorship board is now making it even tougher for bromance series. unless it’s a male/female, they will make it hard to air.
IQIYI should really just sell this to a foreign streaming platform like netflix and just have it air outside of…
I don’t think thet can because the Chinese government would have to approve. otherwise, we wouldn’t be seeing all these gay/bl series ban, or major editings for gay series. I think they all go through censorship board even if they sell it to international airing.
Hence why this aired outside of China and could include kisses.
I don’t think they’re allowed to air inside or outside. all productions must go through their censorship. that’s why you don’t see any bl/gay contents in the series. they’re more like “brothers”… who uses lube… :-)
if you are looking for a true bl/gay series, just remember China bans all gay content, so this is pretty much bromance all the way. nevertheless, it’s a great series with obvious “gay” innuendoes. the two actors are also cute.
