Interesting idea... The only thing is that I'm not sure of Adachi would really chicken out yk? Like, there has been this character arc of him gaining courage and he even ended up confessing in front of Tsuge, so while I see that as a possibility, it would mean he has to reclaim his character developement again.. Though it is said you have to take a step back to do two steps further.

I checked and it doesn't seem like the tie Adachi is wearing in Episode 7 and in the Ending are the same. They have different patterns. So if that scene ever appears in the drama it might be after the date in Ep10... (The ties in the Ep9 preview are different as well i think)

I interpret it like you do. I think Adachi seeing someone else in love helped and like he told Tsuge before the confession, he was like Tsuge, too. He hesitated and doubted himself. Saying (or rather thinking) that to someone else out loud made him re-realise how much he has grown and how serious his feelings for Kurosawa are. In the first scene where he is supposed to introduce Kurosawa, Adachi hesitates one last time, for one out of routine and for another part because he didn't feel any need to immediately come clean, I think. But when his expertise was needed and after he made himself realise how serious he is with all this, he was able to be honest.
